I only recently started to use this ink (both color and black) with my Dell all-in-one printer. The alignment paper came out almost exactly the same as with the original Dell cartridge, there were only very minor color differences in the blue. As it is stated on the packaging the printer sends a warning message that the cartridges are empty,but I just ignored it as instructed, and it prints fine. I'll bet this cartridge will even last longer than Dell's ridiculusly priced $30+ ink cartridges.

So far I'm very happy with this purchase, the photos I printed came out nice.

I used to purchase Waterman fountain pens and really liked them. I decided to try the Parker fountain pens. I bought one for my husband as a gift and one for myself. We both have the same problem. If we don't use the pen on a very regular basis, as in every day, the pens dry up. I don't know if it's the pen or the ink. I'm disappointed and will try a different brand of fountain pen next time.

On a certain level ink is ink how much more can you say about it? There certainly are questions of durability, strength, permanence (also known as washability), and the tendency to bleed through a typical sheet of paper. On those counts Parker's Quink is very strong in terms of durability and strength; sometimes a little too strong however. Bottled Quink can all too often bleed through less thick paper and even onto the sheet behind it, less than ideal under most circumstances. Yet in cartridge form Quink works fine on typical stock paper. Quink used to be available in a broader array of colors, but now it's limited to a handful, which is a shame. Parker cartridges work in a wide variety of Parker pens such as the 45, Jotters, and Vectors, as well as the later Eversharp and Esterbrook cartridge fountain pens. These refills can be hard to find in shops; thank heavens for online and specialty shops!

I needed ink for my Canon iP3000, and was tired of paying ludicrous prices for it, so this was my first time buying 3rd party ink. I read on reviews of other 3rd party ink cartridges that sometimes you'd get the wrong size black cartridge (single-wide instead of double-wide, or vice versa). However, this one specifically says in the item name that it's for an iP3000, shows the [correct] double-wide black cartridge in the picture, and had one review saying that the customer received the correct ink. I did not; mine came with two single-wide black cartridges, which are useless to me. $10 for the 6 colored cartridges is still a good deal, so it's almost not even worth my time to try and return it, but that's what I'll be doing.

Edit: I'd just like to post a follow-up. Amazon refunded my money almost immediately after being notified of the issue, told me to keep the cartridges I received anyway, and offered to give me free next-day shipping if I wanted to try to re-order them. Mistakes happen; thankfully Amazon goes above and beyond to fix them.

Presently it is wise to contact the seller to be sure WHICH 564XL Black (not photo black) cartridge that he actually sells. The Amazon web pages for this product may show the wrong HP part number. I received the present replacement part in May 2011, a few months ago I got the earlier part.

This particular web page shows a picture of what is more likely the old 564XL Black ink cartridge because the package seems to show "3X the pages" but has the data indicating the new 564XL Black ink cartridge part number which package (the one I recently received) shows " NEW lower price, smaller size Up to 2X more pages".

The previous 564XL Black ink cartridge was thicker and as indicated on the package offered up to 3X the printing of the regular 564 Black ink cartridge. Its HP number was/is CB321WN#140 (option 140 on package). Cost about $30.

The replacement 564XL Black ink cartridge is now (one-half) about the thickness of the 564 color ink cartridges and indicates 2X the printing (550 pages) as the regular 564 Black ink cartridge. Its HP number is CN684WN#140 (option 140 on package). Cost about $22 here and on the HP web site.

HP no longer indicates the actual amount of ink in the cartridges it sells nor apparently do the phone support people know. The HP part number is on the bottom of the package.

Ignoring any cost change contribution of cartridge parts such as plastic, electrical and packaging, you pay about 10 per cent more for the ink in the new replacement 564XL ink cartridge. Shipping cost differences affect the final cost and should be noted.

It is not uncommon for a business to increase the cost of a product in this way and remember that the cost increase may be simply because of the increased cost of production and materials.

I would have preferred HP to keep the larger cartridge and increase its cost maybe future HP printers won't even allow larger cartridges, just one size, filled to different ink levels as already is done. If you dislike HP's action then write a letter to HP corporate don't bother with the usual HP support it's not a technical problem, it's a marketing-business decision.

I just received my order for the 564xl black cartridge. In the listings on Amazon it showes two ink cartridges, one for under $22.00 and states its the new size printing up to 2x more pages, and another for under $30.00 which is listed as the older cartridge that prints up to 3x pages. Well I took the trouble to make sure I ordered the old cartridge with 3x pages. You guested it, I received the newer cartridge which sells for under $22 and was charged for the older cartridge. Amazon you need to update your listings. If I had known I could have bought the new smaller cartridge locally, it was cheaper at my office supply store. I won't be ordering again, I will buy locally for now. (I ordered product # HP CB321WN and received CN684WN)

And more expensive per page. OK costs go up, but suddenly making it half the size (it seems about half the size). Instead of 800 or so pages you now get around 550 or so pages. But we probably won't get even 400 pages with this new cartridge.

They should call it something different. This product gets 1 out of five stars on the HP website!

Joining in the chorus of reviews here warning that HP (and Amazon) have done a bait-and-switch and halved the size of the black ink cartridge while still calling it the "XL" size. In fact, I did a re-order by going to my previous order page and re-ordering from the link of the precise product I previous purchased, but instead received the new product that is half the size. What makes this even more insulting is what they basically did is take the previous not "XL" version and put the old "XL" (which was supposed to designate the extra capacity) on it. So they literally baited-and-switched.

HP lost its soul a long time ago and has been a scummy company for a while now. Their printers are now cheap commodity products intentionally designed to break after a couple years. I have been through many, each with light use. I recall when one of them was "bricked" by their own software update, only a month out of warranty. I called TECH SUPPORT and got routed to a call center in India where the person didn't know enough tech to set his watch and spent the whole time trying to sell me on buying a new printer from him on the spot to replace the old one. He said I would get a deep discount because they were doing it to fix their tech problem but when I looked it up on real time online he was quoting MSRP and about $150 more than I could buy it online. When I called him out on that he hung up on me. And this was their official tech support line. I went online and was able to fix the software problem myself by reverting to an old version and the printer was fine... For another 3 months until the internal power supply failed and they wanted $250 to fix it, which was more than it cost to replace. That's HP for you.

But for Amazon to facilitate this criminal operation by selling the bait-and-switch product under the same product # as the old original version makes them no better.

I will never buy another HP product again. I used to be able to get the larger 564XL before they made a smaller version of the 564XL. It is ridiculous that they shrunk the size down and kept the same XL designation. Of course you don't even know how much you're getting any more because they no longer show the actual volume on the packaging anywhere. On my previous HP printer the sizes were listed as 19 ml for the regular and 38 ml for the XL. But with the new printer the refills no longer have the actual volume. So that gives them the opportunity to jack with the volumes and rape the consumer.

Seriously. I am done with HP. I like the print quality of their printers, but this is no way to treat customers!

The cartridges are complete junk. They have dust in the jet and leave lines in the printing, the quality of the ink was terrible, and they do NOT have anywhere near as much ink in them as is claimed. I would definitely stay away from these and stick to buying the manufacture ones. It may cost a bit more but you get what you pay for I guess.

I must admit I was slightly skeptical about refilling my own ink cartridge on my HP printer. I read an online article on the subject and it stated that sometimes mixed results can be expected. Then the article went on to explain why replacement cartridges cost so much. When you buy a new cartridge you are paying for a new print head mechanism which is an integral part of the actual cartridge. The ink itself is really cheap. So that made sense to me. But at close to $50 just for a new color cartridge, I was willing to give this ink refill kit a try. Especially since my HP printer is nearly 6 years old, I figured I had nothing to loose.

Well the kit itself is very straight forward and includes very concise and well detailed instructions with illustrations, written in several languages no less. Since I was only running very low on the cyan (red) color, injecting that color alone into my cartridge only took a couple of minutes. The instructions advise to only refill those colors that are known to be running low and to avoid overfilling. It is also advised that you should not allow any color to completely deplete or it may be difficult to refill properly. When you are finished injecting instructed quantities of the color(s) into the proper holes on the cartridge you then finish up the process by extracting a small quantity of ink through a hole on the bottom of the cartridge with a syringe specifically designed for this purpose. This final step is to "prime" the cartridge to insure that the ink is flowing through all three chambers within the cartridge.

After finishing this operation I then re-inserted the cartridge back into my printer ran a clean printer cart. operation through the printer preferences services menu and presto I was back in business.

After printing 4 sheets (cheap satin finish copy paper) of a total of 16 different color photos on best quality, though not maximum dpi, I can confidently say that the color accuracy looks very good.

This kit claims to refill a cartridge 8 times. The only concern that I have is that according to the above article that I read concerning refill kits, it mentioned that ink cartridges do have a limited lifespan and that a cartridge head will eventually wear-out. If you continue to run a cartridge with a worn-out head in your printer, the article stated that it is possible that your printer might become damaged. That said, in my case if I get even 3 or 4 more uses out of the cartridge using this re-fill kit before my printer bites the dust I will be more than happy given the age of my printer. $11 beats

$100-$200 worth of new cartridges any day!

The most complete printer cartridge refill kit I have ever used. These people are serious. Comes with holder for cartridge, syringes, ink, and plastic gloves. Very good directions for a product of this nature. I refilled both an HP 56 B&W cartridge and an HP 57 color cartridge. They work flawlessly. Buy this product and save yourself some serious money.

This negative report is not against Amazon, but the seller who shipped through Amazon. I received 2 boxes stapled together, HP920XL box stapled to a color combo box (no notations that this was standard ink combo as advertised by seller). this was not what this seller advertised or displayed on Amazon's website. The Black ink was full according to my ink level report, however the 3 color pack did not contain standard ink, which should give about 300 pages on avg. After printing approximately 20 4x5 inch baby shower inserts with minor color designs my printer stopped printing the colored designs. When I checked my ink status i was appalled. The report indicated that the cyan, yellow and blue were actually INTRO cartridges, and that my printer can support standard and XL cartridges. This seller sold me INTRO color combo pack of Authentic HP Brand ink. I contacted Amazon and Customer Service Rep was very helpful. I am very upset because this deception by seller has put me behind schedule and I was charged full price of standard ink for INTRO Cartridges which normally are included with a printer upon purchase of the printer. Shame on you Seller! I will never purchase from you again.

I have finally found a non-Epson brand of ink that I won't have to throw away because my Epson 800 won't recognize it. And I don't need a 'resetter' either!

When I install one of these ink cartridges, the printer just says the cartridge is unrecognized, then asks if I want to continue. I tell the printer to continue (just like the directions that come with it) and IT WORKS !!!

Negatives: The knock-off ink is smelly, like it has high VOC content or something. It's probably unhealthy, but you use so little ink that I wouldn't worry about it. Print outs smell for a minute or two. I've had one out of ten cartridges leak when I opened it since I started using Sophia Global generics, but I've had a Canon OEM cart do the same, so I can't blame the off-brand for that. The cartridges do seem to run out of ink faster than OEM, but not dramatically. Independent testing shows that colors from knock-off carts always fade faster, but I have not tested that myself.

Pro's: These cost more than 80% less than Canon charges for OEM carts.

Conclusion: These cartridges aren't as good as real ones. For nice photos, I'd steer clear since generics are said to fade and quality matters more than price for something you hang on the wall. Other than that, though, these work just fine. They might a third worse than genuine, but they cost 80% less. Do the math. The same number of cartridges from Canon would cost a minimum of $164 off their company site. In the worst possible case, a generic tank blows up in your printer and ruins it. If you got just ONE 12 pack worth of savings before the fakes destroyed your printer, you would still have saved over $130. With that amount of savings, you can march down to the store and buy a brand new Canon printer, no problem.

I own and use a Canon Pixma i8500 printer, and use it almost on a daily basis. I have only used Canon 6 ink for it so I have no comparisons with other products, but I have never had a problem with the ink. The coverage is excellent, never clogs, and is completely used up. My only complaint is a fairly common one--it is expensive. I have 8 ink cartridges to buy for the printer, and thank heavens they don't all run out at once. Amazon's price is much cheaper than our local stores, so I usually buy at Amazon. Great product!

We sometimes get only one cartridge that works out of four. Very frustrating.We have tried to reload them multiple times but even though it is a full cartridge the printer does not recognize that it is even there. When it does recognize it it does not use the ink and instead of black we get blue or pink.
