This may work for other people but it didn't work for me. I followed the instructions and repeated the steps five times over the course of three days. I had an Epson Workforce 840 printer. Also the plastic reduction nub on the end of the syringe kept coming off inside the printer and needed to be manually retrieved.

I have been using this product consistently for over a year now. I am tempted to give this system a 4 or 5 star review based solely on its value in comparison to the dramatic markup of individual replacement ink cartridges. The reason I settled on 3 stars is that because this is an after-market modification, one shouldn't expect perfect performance.

I'm not suggesting that it doesn't work well -it does, but it can be a bit finicky. I didn't have any trouble with installation. I also don't have any complaints about the print quality. The only issue I have had is the occasional error message or other indication that one or more cartridge needs replaced. I am certainly no expert on computers or printers, but I think it's a case of an air-bubble getting in the line. Typically, I just manually elevate the large reservoir while printing a full-color test sheet. This seems to clear it up. Bottom line, I strongly recommend a CIS like this one. Just be patient with it.

My daughter was home from college and wanted to print a large batch of photo's. The kit made the photo printing both affordable and refilling of the ink cartridge easy. I was refilling the XL version of the HP cartridges, which as I recall hold about twice the ink of the non XL cartridge. I refilled using the recommend amount of ink (3 mls for the thin cartridges) and there was no ink released from the cartridge vent hole. If you overfill the cartridge, ink will be ejected out the vent hole. The kit comes with 100 ml of each ink, so I'll be able to refill the cartridges many times. The supplied ink worked fine with our HP Photosmart c309a printer and the photo's looked very good. The printer still thinks the cartridges are low in ink however since there does not appear to be a way to tell the printer software that the cartridge has been refilled. As a result, the HP software warns me each time I print that the ink levels are low. The HP cartridges don't have a transparent window so you cannot see the actual ink level in the cartridge either. So far that's not been an issue, but I am thinking about getting a set of the non OEM cartridges made from transparent plastic, so it's easy to see the ink level in each cartridge.

I would give this 5 stars, except that after installing refills my printer still says ink is low and prints as if it is too. Maybe it needed more time to register the levels before I started printing again. It was so easy to refill...just followed the instructions. I was prepared for a mess, but there was none. Very simple and efficient way to refill the cartridges. As far as the ink showing as still low, it may be a printer glitch. I'll have to check that out.

Like most people, I find the price of OEM ink to be outrageous so I gave this product a shot to replace the HP 564 series. The box contains five syringes, five bases to hold your original cartridges for refill and 100mL of each ink type, but the value isn't what it seems.

The reason this product gets two stars instead of one is that the instructions are relatively straightforward. On to the negatives:

the syringes are meant to be thrown out after a single use. Considering that most of the 564 cartridges hold less than 3mL of ink, that means that you would need to buy 30-40 syringes to refill each cartridge if you use all of the ink. I am sure you can find them, but it's an additional headache and expense.

the instructions note that the ink should be used within one year of opening, so unless you are an incredibly heavy user or have other outlets for the ink, you're going to toss out a lot of it.

there is very little margin for error in refilling the cartridges. If you add just a hair too much ink, the cartridges become a saturated mess and you'll end up with ink all over the place. Perhaps that is a chance you're willing to take to avoid paying HP's ridiculous prices, but I ended up with a mess and stained fingers from just one overfilled cartridge.

So as much as I hated to do so, I went back to the OEM cartridges...and hope I can find a better solution.

I was initially happy that I could find this cartridge for my older model canon printer. When I opened the package I noticed the product appeared to be a used recycled cartridge in a used box, with a typed BC-05 label stuck on the cartridge. Canon makes excellent ink and photo paper so this ink/paper combo is almost the best of two worlds, quality and economy. I've never had any negative issues with either Canon inks or photo paper so I have no negative comments about them. I made a costly error a number of years ago by using non-OEM ink to save a buck. Saving a buck on ink cost me a printer which gummed up and quit working due to poor quality ink. Lesson learned, stick with Canon OEM ink for your Canon printer.

Why did I say this combo was "almost" the best of two worlds? What you receive with this combo are CLI-221 tanks in cyan, magenta, & yellow and the PGI 220 black tank as well as 50 sheets of Canon glossy photo paper. You DO NOT get the CLI 221 black ink which is required for the MP-560 and some other Canon printers. I didn't read as thoroughly as I should have and thought I was getting all four CLI 221 tanks. My MP 560 requires both the pigment-based and dye-based black ink cartridges (pigment for text and dye for photo printing). As I said, it was totally my fault for not reading thoroughly but I do wonder how many others may have made the same mistake. It's an easy fix, just order a CLI 221 black tank.

Regardless of my error, it is still an excellent value for which you get Canon quality for ink and paper.

This Combo Pack doesn't come with the CLI-221 black cartridge. If you don't pay attention to it, you buy presuming it is complete.

This review is an alert. If you want a complete set of cartidges, you have to buy with this COMBO an extra CLI-221 black cartidge.

I have to post a review because I feel differently than most about the combination of ink in this package. We have had our Canon printer for about 3 years; we run a small business and print mostly text documents, only occasional photos. It has quickly become apparent that the larger black ink tanks (pgi-220) get used up much faster than the small ones.(pgi-221) Even though I don't use the photo paper, I purposely buy this combo pack BECAUSE it has a 220 in it. I have bought the packages that include all 4 pgi-221 refills, and currently have amassed 4 of the small black inks because the printer just doesn't use them up! Pay attention to what you're ordering and you won't have a problem...

These remanufactured cartridges are much less expensive than a genuine cartridge. But they are not the quality you receive from a genuine cartridge. I'm on my second of these. Both produced less than perfect colors and both had occasional streaking. I'll probably 'bite the bullet' and go with the genuine color cartridges from now on. I'm glad I tried these, otherwise I would question whether the extra cost of a genuine cartridge was worth the money. But... the black remanufactured cartridges are a definite money saver. The problems I have experienced with the black cartridges is that they need to be removed from the printer occasionally and cleaned with alcohol. I do encounter a bit of streaking when printing large bold type styles but for the most part they are fine. I'll continue to use black remanufactured cartridges. One fear that I had was that the cartridges would leak and somehow damage the printer. That has not happened to me (yet).

Just got it today and tried it right away. Delivered fast. Packagecould be better, at least could be packed in a box. Used it for CL31 and PG30 (smaller ones) which was basically enough for ~12 letter size sheets high quality color printing (full coverage, so its not that bad). Filling is pretty simple, quality is ok. The only PIA is that I had to hit 'clean' button at least one time per those 12 pages, because the print heads do get clogged, and some color would just disappear. But since i am familiar with printing figured it out pretty fast (common problem for refills). Don't forget to run cleaning after you refilled the cartridges and get the nozzle test printed.

Anyways, its worth the price and gonna last pretty long time. But manufacturer gotta work on package and in general presenting the product, it didn't look very professional ;) besides, it would be nice to see it "eligible for free shipping"

Rather then that, I am pretty happy with the purchase, 'cause its does save the money.

I have a Canon MP-140 PIXMA printer. Spent quite a bit of time looking around Amazon at all the different inks, reviews, etc, and settled on this one. There was a similar-looking refill kit sold by the same seller that had good reviews, though some said that the syringes supplied didn't work well (needle was too big). I don't plan on using the syringes that came with the ink, so I can't comment on that.

So far I've tried the black ink & all is well! I'm hoping the colored inks will perform well too. If not, I'll be back for an update, so assume no news is good news! Packaging seemed fine to me (was in a cardboard packing envelope which was fairly sturdy). No leaked ink or anything. For the price, when compared to new (or even refilled) cartridges, this is a good deal. (Hopefully) no more obsessing about how much ink I'm using!

This ink stamp pad refill is the right size, and the ink is of a good quality. Depending on how you store the ink bottle, just make sure that the lid does not seep ink. If it falls over, it can leak out, wasting the ink.

The first cartridge lasted a long long time, by the time I had to change it the second cartridge either DRIED OUT or it was not good to begin with, it could not print any good copies at all. If you buy a 2pack then buy black and color, that way you will used them both at the same time and you will know if one of them is not good and ask for your money back. What a ripppppppp-off! They just re-wrap old cartridges and sell them to you! If they "accidentally" put a little ink in it, the cartridge isn't sealed so it leaks out and clogs your printer. It was good for exactly two copies! I'm going back with Lexmark. Although costly, the quality is high. (I had to give it a one-star rating or the comment wouldn't be accepted)
