Set-up and printing was fairly quick and easy. We had to clean the heads a few times to get the air out, but after that the test patterns came out clean with no broken lines. The sad news came when we tried to print photographs to glossy and luster stock. The cartridges appeared to the software as for mat paper. So, in select media, only plain and mat papers were available. The result was on those papers all the colors were off by a lot, with a heavy slant toward red-purples. The clarity of the images were very soft, blurry and completely non-saleable. Switching to mat stock we found the color cast did not disappear, the sharpness was less than expected. In the end we removed the system, went back to the expensive Epson cartridges and after a few cleanings, our prints are happily back to normal. We could not get photographic quality prints using this system. Bottom line, a waste of our money. Do not buy this product if you wish to print photographs.

Before buying the Continuous Ink System for my Epson R2400, I did lots of research. I live at high altitude (5300') and was grateful for reviews from others who warned how to stabilize the air pressure during set up, to avoid ink going everywhere. Basically, before doing STEP 2D, the warning was to gently remove the filling hole plug (across from the air plug) and then gently replace the filling hole plug BEFORE removing the original air plugs. We did this and had only minor ink splashes (a few dots).
The manual was straightforward and logical, but missing a few details, such as: Is it okay to close the cartridge carrier cover without pinching or damaging the ink tubes? It turned out the answer is YES, but WITH CAUTION. If you DON'T close the cartridge carrier, the printer will not work: the power button goes off, while the paper/trash and the ink buttons both blink wildly. None of the pictures made this point clear... I ended up laying the ink tubes ribbon in the curve on the left top edge of the cartridge carrier and carefully snapping the lid into its closed position.
The manual also didn't address the issue of closing the top cover without pinching or damaging the ink tubes? I didn't snap the top printer cover closed, but just let it rest gently on the tubes to minimize dust. The printer works even if the top cover is not snapped closed.
It was counter-intuitive to insert the wide end of the air breather plugs into the reservoirs, as it was a very snug fit and the plugs didn't insert very far. It would have helped to have photos or illustrations that CLEARLY show the correct way to insert air breathers, and to reassure the consumer that they only go in a little way. Nevertheless, once we figured it out, the air breather plugs worked perfectly to eliminate air bubbles in the ink tubes, even at this altitude.
The whole set up took nearly an hour, with my husband and me working together. After reading other reviews, we put newspaper under the printer and there was some minor ink splashing as I adjusted the filling hole plugs on the first couple of tanks.
So far, I am LOVING this system and will report back after using it for a while. The prints look beautiful and clear, and I am THRILLED with how much money I will save!
Honest reviews on FantasyBuy Bulk Continuous Ink System (CIS) for: Epson R2400
This system sounded like a great idea.
It installed easy, and does indeed print, but the quality of the prints is very bad. Within about an hour, there was a very distinct cloudiness. Blacks turned grey, and colors were not crisp.
Putting mine on Craigslist to try and recover some of my money. If no one buys it, it's going in the trash.
Like the old saying goes, you get what you pay for.
Having quality prints is important to me, and I guess I'm gonna just have to suck up the higher price or real Epson ink.

Same quality ink as you'd buy from Epson except it holds 3 to 4 times as much and is something like %80-%90 the savings, can't complain.
