Ordered and received a "2 Pack" of 901XL black cartridges first cartridge was a failure from the start printer only printed jibberish. Thought my printer had failed so reloaded printer software but problem remained. Tried previous virtually empty cartridge and problem disappeared. Conclusion: one of the brand new cartridges was defective. Installed second brand new cartrdge and all was well. Called supplier who seemed to be aware of the problem; after some discussion he offered replacement. Now, after barely a week and less than 10 pages of printing, the second brand new cartridge from the "2 pack" has gone bad. Same problem jibberish printing another defective new cartridge. Have never had this experience with HP cartridges before. Buyer beware of this supplier!

To start with, the product pictured is of a genuine OEM 901XL black cartridge. What was sent was a re-manufactured non-OEM cartridge, model number "NH-RO0654 (No.901xl Black) For use with: HP OfficeJet J4524/J4540/J4550 HY Black". On the bottom it said Use before: with no date listed. Thankfully, TonerPals stands behind the guarantee on the back. The first one just plain old didn't work. The cartridge came in a sealed plastic package along with the standard foam clip and tape over the output. The printer printed a test page then refused to print ANYTHING after that. After emailing tonerpals (since no phone number can be found anywhere, though if you have an issue, call Amazon, they can get you in touch with them), they got back to me after a few days. They did an advanced RMA at no cost to me (Emailed me a prepaid shipping label and sent a new cartridge so I wouldn't be without ink). This next cartridge worked for a few days, maybe a week or two before the same issue occurred. Tonerpals then offered to replace it or refund it. I decided to go with a replacement. This one worked for 2 weeks or so, then the heads started getting jammed. I ran a cleaning cycle which worked for about 2 pages. Now certain heads just don't print. At this point, they will be refunding the cost of the cartridge and I'll be sending it back at their expense (I emailed them and they replied, but I still have not gotten the label to print). Don't cheap out like I did....

I prefer manufacturer cartridges to generic and remanufactured. The "XL" version does last a lot longer than regular ink cartridges so it's worth the money. Reasonably priced for manufacturer product.

Discount Non-OEM, (5 x 100ml) Bulk refill dye ink for Canon inkjet printer 4

I figured I am saving money after three refills and have a BUNCH more in the bottles to use. I've tried the non-Canon cartridges and always had problems. This way, I get to use the Canon cartridges, not have problems and save money. Win-win-win. Printer is a Canon MP780.

If you go this route, find the YouTube videos to learn how to do this without making a mess. Have some paper towels handy and protect whatever surface you're working on preferably with something the ink cant get through like a plastic bag, then a paper towel and there's your work area.

For Canon BCI-3 and BCI-6 series ink cartridges:

I use electrical tape to seal the area that allows ink into the printer. I call this the "bottom-front" of the cartridge. If you do not seal this and add ink to the cartridge, it *will* leak ALL OVER (don't ask why I know this).

On the top-rear, there is a "PUSH" in a circle. This is where you fill the ink into the cartridge. I use a small phillips head screw driver to punch that hole open large enough for the ink injector to fit. I use an adjustable crescent wrench to keep the cartridge vertical and steady.

Pick the appropriate color, use the included syringe and "needle" to fill the syringe and fill the ink cartridge. Leave about 1/4" airspace in the cartridge reservoir.

TAPE THE REAR-TOP CLOSED. DO NOT REMOVE THE TAPE FROM THE FRONT BOTTOM "FEED". For the top tape, I use a thin piece of duct tape securely affixed to and sealing the hole. I planned ahead for easy removal the next time refill is done.

The tape on the top hole creates enough "back suction" where the ink won't leak from the front bottom feed. KEEP THE TAPE ON BOTH.

When ready, go to the printer. LEAVE THE TOP TAPE ON UNTIL THE NEXT TIME YOU REFILL.

At the printer (have paper towels available), remove the bottom tape (see? the ink stays in because of the top tape!). Carefully clean any excess ink near the bottom with the paper towels you brought with you.

Install the cartridge.

First of all, I have a Dell V313w

I ordered 3 of these at the same time and they arrived quickly and in proper packaging. Let's not forget how insanely cheap these are compared to buying name brand ink in a store.

I don't want to say much more than I popped my old Dell cartridge out, popped this one in, and it started working instantly. Five stars for working without a fuss. I can't speak for how long these cartridges will last, since I just put one in yesterday (October 3rd, 2012). But if anything goes wrong, I will return and update this review.

So if this is the last thing you see written, assume everything works great!

October 10th, 2012 edit:

This is week two that I have had one of these cartridges in my printer. The printer still recognizes the cartridges, but no ink comes out any more. I printed a few pages, and each one the ink was lighter and lighter until now, my printer just prints out a blank page. I know my printer is just fine because it has no issues printer in color (I still have an OEM color cartridge).

Do not buy these cartridges! It sucks that the branded ones cost so much, but they are the only ones that work.

EDIT NUMBER 2 (PLEASE READ!)

I restored the review to 3 stars. I filed a claim with the seller (DuraEco) through amazon and they responded later THAT SAME DAY and offered me a FULL REFUND. It is still disappointing that the product was defective, but you CANNOT ASK FOR BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE.

This shipped the same day I ordered it (great customer service and shipping/processing time). I was hesitant to order, because judging by the reviews, it didn't work for everyone. I printed images with this ink and with Epson ink for side by side comparison and could not tell the difference. The price keeps going up on this stuff but it's still a good deal when compared to Epson replacement cartridges. I needed to prime mine because I ran out of a couple colors and there was no instructions included with the refill set on how to do this. I eventually found a YouTube video showing how it's done, but and instruction sheet included in the box would have saved me a lot of time.

Tried other brands of re-manufactured cartridges 10 yrs and 5 yrs ago, with poor results. As Sophia Global stands by their product and verifies each cartridge (per their website), I was willing to give them a try. Ordered black/color combo. Black cartridge was not recognized by my printer, but color was fine. Called Sophia Global, excellent customer service, was told I would receive a free replacement. Called one week later, again excellent customer service, was told that first representative did not finalize the shipment. Requested a free rush shipment and the replacement arrived 2 days later. Anyhow, these cartridges work just as well as HP-brand. I'll buy these again, probably 2 sets at a time, just in case I get a defective one (actually buying two sets of re-manufactured is still cheaper than 1 set of HP-brand).

All I can say is WOW. Good quality ink, as good as OEM and REALLY REALLY cheap! I LOVE my Brother Printer, and although the ink is cheaper than the other cruddy brands, it is still expensive! Saved yet AGAIN by Amazon, this ink is well worth your time and money and this package is the best deal on the site. Ink even has a 'warranty' as labeled on the box, but that is a bit doubtable. Worth the risk, it's a small investment for a fortune of ink.

These worked fine for me, no problems. Compared to the price I have to pay at Staples for similar Brother ink cartridges, these price out to 1/5 the cost. I run through a lot of ink, so cost-saving is paramount to me. And I did not see any noticeable difference in quality there may be some slight difference, but not enough to make up for the cost savings. Thank you.

I've used these non-stop now since last November, I've gone through probably 45-50 of these cartridges (black and color) since then, and I can't understand the negativity of the reviews here. Yes, occasionally I have to actually clean the print heads, yes three or four black cartridges have proven faulty over that time, but that's just the cost of doing business. The ten-pac is 42.99 on AMAZON, and Staples gives me back $2 each on every empty cartridge. I just don't have time to get upset at the loss of 3.29 on a non-working cartridge. I just put in another one and move on.

Occasionally I've had to buy Brother cartridges when I couldn't get these in time, and I never say "wow, this Brother ink is so much better" honestly, I don't see it. It probably is better, but not enough to make up for the cost savings. The black cartridges did seem to go through a period in the Spring where some of the black ones did not print dark/black enough (very frustrating) but I have not seen this problem in subsequent batches. I may have to abandon the black ink if the problem returns, but I have never had a problem with any of the color cartridges over this time whatsoever.

Bottom line, if you can work these into your cost-structure, why not? Equivalent Brother inks (10) would add up to roughly 192.72. If you're only going through one batch a year, maybe you want the Brother. But if you're using multiple batches, and at 1/5 the price, at least think about it, especially the color inks. BTW, I just purchased a new batch today before writing this review, so for me it works.

Inexpensive and work fine for black and white printing, but color printer set to highest quality and vivid prints rates mediocre. If sacrificing print quality is not real important to you but net number of prints per cost is... welcome home. Just be aware that the Brother cartridges perform much better if your after the quality.

The assessment above stands. The only reason I'm back here again is that I'm shopping around for new cartridges because the poor print quality is intolerable. It looks like there are some other better "compatible" cartridges with good ratings available... but at what cost? Will I have to buy a new printer because they gummed it up or leaked ink everywhere? These horror stories are certainly out there... Beware!

Obviously the title for my review says it all. I can not attest to the quality yet as I have not depleted the starter cartridges that came with my printer. However, these ink packs seem to be manufacturered and packaged nicely. I was a little bit disappointed to find the color cartridges were not extra high yield but that makes perfect sense since they are half the size of the black cartridges. Even for the price paid this is still an excellent value. It was impossible for me to give 5 stars when the product title is a little misleading.

Oh, something else I wanted to comment on. I believe the extra high yield cartridges are good for up to 1500 pages at 5% coverage. In real world use, that should equal about a ream of paper (500 sheets). Considering you get 4 extra high yields black cartridges this is extremely good deal not to pass up.

I purchased this because I know my printer eats ink like there is no tomorrow (ungrateful brat :P).

Ink usually lasts me around 2-3 months of school. This lasted only a few days, and all I printed were around 50 pages of mere writing (not even pictures).

I'm pretty sure this isn't my printer's fault since this was a pretty "large, wholesome meal."

Maybe it's just me, but I think I would rather just pay full-price at somewhere like Office Max or Staples (gee, that would have been Easy). It just isn't even worth the hassle buying something that will have to be replaced so suddenly.
