Some statistics for prospective buyers.

CAVEAT about EXPIRY DATE: buy a package with the LATEST (further in time) possible expiry date. This is difficult, if not impossible, over the internet. The ink cartridges are programmed to "disable themselves" on the expiry date. I am not certain whether Dec 2010 would mean Dec 1 or Dec 31 of that year.

I did not buy my 110 value pack at Amazon because I was worried about being able to choose the expiry date. I read a lot of reviews about the HP A630 photo printer before buying ink and paper. How long the ink lasts is an important issue.

I was printing borderless 4" x 6" photos on the Advanced paper in the pack. Following advice from someone reviewing the A630, I set quality to "normal". That setting gives fantastic photos.

On "normal" quality, I was able to print just over 130 borderless photos. The printer gave a warning just before about the 5th to last print. I did them all in one shot (last night because the expiry date is Dec 2010) but I don't think makes a difference.

For some reason when I buy the HP 110 catridge alone without this combo pack I never have good luck with printing. I always seem to get about 80-100 prints with this combo pack. When I buy the other I only get 40-50 prints before the ink runs out.

I purchased this cartridge for an old but still serviceable portable HP photo printer. This cartridge was supposed to be compatible with my printer, but sadly it was not -something I did not realize until after having already installed the cartridge. (The cartridge had the same form factor, and snapped into my unit just fine, but the unit displayed an incompatibility message). As far as I know, the item sold is as it should be; but beware when searching for replacement ink -don't begin your search with your printer model, or you'll likely end up with an incompatible toner.

I normally purchase the Canon Combo Pack (twice in the last year) which comes with a color cartridge in addition to this specific black ink only cartridge. My kids have decided they need to print out a lot of text for school this year and have been going through the ink at a rate that I can verify is about 300 pages per this exact same black ink cartridge (Canon PG-240-XL). I've never had technical problems with these cartridges, but they're pretty typical of inkjet prices and capacities. If you need them for your printer (mine is a Canon PIXMA MX432) you need them. For the price I paid it does work out to a tad less than 7 cents per page (I rounded up).

Storage time is rated at 24 months and I'm looking somewhere for a bulk purchase of this specific cartridge since the color ones aren't needed that often. I'd happily buy a 3 or 4 pack for a per cartridge discount, but no luck so far.

Hard to "love" inkjet cartridges, but given the lack of any real problems, four out of five stars.

NOTE: If my offspring continue to gobble up black ink I'll probably step up to the apparently more (per page) cost effective Canon PG-240 Double X (XXL) ink cartridge and update this review.

Had the regular sized 240 cartridge prior and it ran out pretty quick. Have printed about 30 pages so far without any signs of running out. Installation went well. I did not have any issues with the cartridge arriving empty or dry like others did. Might be a packaging or QA problem.

It's cheaper to purchase the combo black and color cartridges than to purchase each separately. If you do any color printing, I'd suggest getting the combo pack even if you don't need to replace the colored ink quite yet. You can hold onto it and replace the color later. But if you only do black and white printing, it's a good option.

The cartridges are not recognizable by the printer. Therefore nothing will print! After trouble shooting to try to make them work, I gave up. There isn't a way to over ride the sensor on the cartridge to detect a full ink level so the computer always thinks they are empty. VERY frustrating.

They work nicely in the printer; the colors are excellent. I don't use the printer much, so I have no idea how many pages per dollar I will get. And no idea of how durable the colors are -it would be nice if pictures didn't fade.

(But the nice thing about digital photography is that even if the prints fade, you can reprint them "forever".)

This ink works for me, and hasn't ran out any sooner than any other ink I've used in the past. I've had a canon, Lexmark and HP ink jet printers and the ink is pretty much the same with all of them. I only use my printer ink to print important documents and money saving coupons. Otherwise, I rather pay 10 cents a copy at a copy center. I do like how the ink with the Epson durabrite doesn't smudge like some other printer ink does.

Alas, my printer will not print without having all of the ink cartridges filled, so I had to make a quick run to Office Depot this afternoon. Price comparison today: Amazon price 12.99; Office Depot 12.59. I have to pay tax in KS, so I would not have benefited from having free tax with Amazon. I am sure I spent at least $0.40 driving to the store, too. So it is essentially both the same cost for me. The comparison was for the identical black Epson brand ink cartridges.

Initially I tried a Piano CISS for my EPSON printer, and could not make it work. Support via email was difficult, vendor requesting many pictures, etc. and after many emails, trials and turbulence we gave up. Vendor suggested a brother printer he uses with CISS. Received product where the box was soaked with "leaked" magenta (what a mess). After I used original ink cartridges, I installed the PRNTTPAYLESS CISS, and as with the Piano, had similar problems -can't connect message from the printer. Many emails, etc, and finally gave up. Stay away from PRINTPAYLESS .. You get inferior product and poor support,and still you pay for it -not less.

Just love the product clean and easy installation , when installing and pouring the inks make sure to where latex gloves and not do it on your desktop, I've attached the piano on the side of the epson stylus photo rx580 with the help of a piece of velcro, now the piano is always level and on the side If I have to move the printer the piano comes with it :) happy shopping

This is the best looking, tidiest, easiest to refill CIS I have seen.

BUT my printer only gets a few prints if that before it says it can't recognize the cartridges. If they reset easily it would be bad enough, but they don't. They have been nice about trying to help, but just refer me to the FAQs. Other places have sent me replacement parts with just a phone call.

This is my fourth CISS. They are great money savers. I was concerned how this would work since this was the first where the cartridges would actually move. They work fine without jamming. I am only giving it four stars instead of five because the instructions are lacking. Even the referenced internet instructions are too generic. You have to cut away parts of the printer to make the tubes fit. If I did not have experience installing these before I would have been very frustrated in trying to figure how to make this fit into the specific printer.

Thank god for this product! Epson tries to jack customers, me being one with my R300, and it's nice to save a little loot when you got corporations trying to grad your wallet. Epson even has my printer lockup for maintenance after a certain amount of prints so you have to send it back to the company even when the printer is fine, BUT use these inks along with the auto-reset-chip cartridges and a little computer app to reset the printers maintenance memory and you can use your printer a long, long, long time (mine still going after about 8 years).

I print all kinds of photos and posters and the ink works great. I recommend the basic Kodak photo paper NOT Epson. Super easy to refill with these tips. Once you do it the first time it's a piece of cake from then on.

I would NEVER deal with this company again!!!!

I saw a good price for ink. I wrote asking the expiration date of the toner. They wrote back to me saying the earliest expiration date for the ink was December of 2012. That would not have been a problem.

It showed up today, in April of 2012, the ink delivered had expired in September, 2006. Can you believe it, 2006!!! We are 6 years beyond the expiration date. How bad can ya get? 2006!! Enough said. Waste of my time and theirs. Now I have to go to the regular store to buy ink as I don't have time to wait for another delivery from a more reputable dealer.

This is just BAD BUSINESS to pawn off something like this. Also, it was not in the pictured packaging, it cam as 3 separate boxes with obviously the 2006 Hp marketing colors.

Word to the wise: apparently this company goes by many names, I ordered from KBT__Inc, it is listed as American Best Ink on the shipping label. Stay away from either.

This was a great deal on genuine HP ink cartridges rather than third party brands which don't always function well. The expiration date on the package is well into the future so that's not a concern. My only complaint was that processing and delivery was slower than my experience with most other Amazon products. Having said that, I would purchase this item again.

I purchased this because I know my printer eats ink like there is no tomorrow (ungrateful brat :P).

Ink usually lasts me around 2-3 months of school. This lasted only a few days, and all I printed were around 50 pages of mere writing (not even pictures).

I'm pretty sure this isn't my printer's fault since this was a pretty "large, wholesome meal."

Maybe it's just me, but I think I would rather just pay full-price at somewhere like Office Max or Staples (gee, that would have been Easy). It just isn't even worth the hassle buying something that will have to be replaced so suddenly.
