I put off ordering ink as I hemmed and hawed over not buying genuine HP56/57 ink, something I've been doing for years. I just got tired of spending $45-50 for ink and figured I'd finally break down and buy "generic" pack of two for $20. I read the reviews on this and a couple others a number of times, finally threw caution to the wind and bought these. Well, it doesn't come close to performing like the original. Install was fine, except for the error messages that plagued me for almost a week, that it wasn't installed right. I'm not dummy and having done this for years, I know there is only one way they go in all the way to the test page. It's not rocket science. The pages will only print yellow for color, and the black isn't dark, it's light when it prints. Finally, while I can print say, a recipe off a website (albiet with a light black result)? It will not print anything off MS Word 2007. So, of course it being the end of a school year, my kids had to put their papers to stick and run to a friend's house or early to school to print out their reports. No, I haven't replaced it with the original ink yet, as school is out and I can make due (I hope) through the summer. But believe me, I won't make this mistake again. Some things are worth buying the real deal and this is one of them for me. So, I'm out $20, but have learned another lesson..

This pushed an old printer over the edge. Not only was there no red color on test pages, but even black print printed green. Red print printed yellow. It caused a misalignment in the cartidges that took all day to repair. I was happily using my old, dependable hp psc 2175 all-in-one until I tried this ink. Now, even after reinstalling updated drivers and using HP diagnostics, it won't work. Wish I could give a minus star.

I had run out of both black and color toner the same week, so was happy to see the good deal on the combo. I was pleased to see an option without packaging so it was better for the environment. I've already installed both cartridges and printed a half dozen pages with color photographs. The cartridges are the same high quality as I've had in the packaged product. I'll get these again when I need them. I am very happy with the purchase.

They work well but not perfectly with my Lexmark NX625. I am very happy with them having printed about 1000 pages over a few days last week.

The good:

Clear plastic to see ink level. Refill hole pre-drilled and plugged. Printer resets ink level when cartridge is removed and installed as advertised.

The bad:

The printer does not always recognize the cartridge when installed. However, multiple attempts (pop cartridge out and put it back in, takes a matter of seconds) has always resolved the problem for me. Sometimes when I change one cartridge the printer must check all the cartridges because a different cartridge will not be recognized. Again re-installing it has always worked.

When I first used these cartridges I printed a few hundred pages one day. The next day I had to run the printer head cleaning function many times to get certain colours to print. However, I just printed a colour image without any problems and the printer has sat for a few days so this is another relatively minor issue.

The ugly: My old Lexmark printer and ink cartridges with non-resetting microchips.

I order this kit hoping it would help me save money on the expensive cartridges. I had bought the Epson printer when I purchased my Apple desktop computer. I thought the printer was a deal that the time of the purchase but then later learned that you can't just have these ink cartridges refilled at a store as you can with other printer cartridges. I tried using this product, at 1st I thought it didn't fit my printer and thought about sending it back. I studied it better a 2nd time a realized that I may have placed it the wrong direction. The usual cartridges from the store have only one hole, refillable cartridges have two holes. I retried placing the cartridge in the printer and found that they do work! I will continue to use these because it is a lot more convenient to refill the ink and save you a lot more money!

This product is a problem when used with Dell printers. It works, BUT it is problematic!!! You have to take the cartridge out and wipe the heads often in order to get it to work. They are not Genuine as stated in the add. Its like a body rejecting an organ from a Donner.

I choose these ink cartridges for the price. I would make sure that you order more than one. Every so often, one of the cartridges just won't work. Because of the value, returning them would be costly. Hopefully, the vendor will see this and just ship a few to me for being honest.

I have been using LD products Inc. Toner for my Dell 1320C laser print since the original toner cartridges ran dry ! They are less expensive and work justas good as dell branded ones do ! I bought these Toner cartridges begause they were cheaper than the LD products brand ones ! My Impressions are quality wise they appear to be as good as LD Products Brand but The Packaging is Nare bones on these BOwn Cardboard Boxes Other than that & minor Cosmetic differences ! I have no complaints so far !!!!

Was a bit leery to purchase due to previous reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. I didnt even have to turn on the "Allow Non OEM toner" for the printer to start using them. Quality is just as good as OEM as far as I can tell.

I tried to save money on the Dell toner, so I bought this set. WHAT A MISTAKE!!! When I got them in May and installed them everything went fine. Ink printed very well just like the the set that came with the printer. I do not use my laser printer that much, I don't use it for heavy color printing mostly B&W. Yesterday I noticed that the Blue and Yellow toners are showing lights saying they are low. Now, I have only had the toner in for 3 months. I think this is a VERY SHORT LIFE for the toner as I see it. To equal the Dell toner cartridge you would have to buy at least three to Dell's one. Because of the cost you might as well buy the Dell toner and get what you pay for.

Now don't get me wrong, I do but after market ink for my ink jet printer and never had a problem them them running out of ink.

I would think twice before buying this set of toner. I guess you get what you pay for, but these will cost you more than the orginal toner cartrige in the long run.

This is the real deal, Black ink that is black, and color ink that is the correct colors. Just the way it is supposed to be. Don't bother with the inferior re-manufactured ink cartridges that you will hate.

I was concerned about what I had read about the chips in the cartridges preventing non-OEM cartridges from working on my Epson 645 printer. At $11 for two sets of cartridges I decided to give it a try. When I installed the cartridges the printer recognized them as genuine Epson, no issues at all. So far I am very happy with how they work.

I bought this ink because I knew the starter ink that came with my Epson Workforce 435 wouldn't be sufficient to last me through the summer, let alone the school year. I've only used 1 cartridge so far after replacing my black ink, and so far it's working perfectly. At first, when I installed the ink, the screen showed that it only had a tiny bit of ink left. After a little while, this was fixed and I had full black ink. At this point, I noticed that my colored ink went from completely full to about 80% full, but I soon realized that it was because the ink has higher capacity than the starter ink, so it's understandable that a full cartridge of low capacity ink appears relatively less full than a new high capacity cartridge. I'll update this review if I change my opinion of this product any time in the near future.

Poor quality. The black worked well for about 12 pages of typical text, then began streaking. After about 20 pages the printer gave an error message that the black cartridge was not recognized.

The colors all began streaking within 5-10 pages, with cleaning the nozzle having no effect.

Cartridges fit very tightly in carriage.

I have used a lot of non-OEM ink in other printers and never had the problems I have experienced with this ink.

Review of BRTDR600 - Drum Unit for Brother HL-6050

I needed to replace the drum unit for my HL6050DN and with the current economic situation, I did not want to pay the premium that Brother was requesting for the unit. I recently began using compatible ink jet cartridges in my Canon color printer and the results were on par with the OEM cartridges. With that experience, I decided to try this compatible drum unit. I admit that I was very wary of the anticipated product quality given the selling price. The item arrived very quickly and was well packaged. Inside of its retail box, the unit was surrounded by a plastic inflatable-like envelope. I carefully compared this compatible drum unit with my OEM drum unit and they are nearly identical in shape and dimensions. The OEM unit has a "Brother" label on a raised surface while the compatible has neither the label nor that particular raised surface. The retail box says "new", but the drum unit has a label that says "refurbished" or "reconditioned", I cannot remember which. I was disappointed by the "refurbished/reconditioned" label until I realized that the drum unit is perhaps 95% non-movable plastic. The two rollers looked new and I surmised that is all that could have been replaced on the unit. I installed the drum unit with a new toner cartridge (see my corresponding review) and powered on the printer. The printer immediately recognized the new assembly and began printing. This drum unit is no noisier than the OEM unit and the print quality is outstanding ... I daresay that the print quality is better than with the OEM drum unit. I have printed documents four sheets to a page and two sheets to a page in duplex without any problems. I am very pleased with this drum unit and order a second one as a backup.

This product is cheap but it is not worth the money. It only worked for five days and the streaks came back on printouts. We bought a genuine Brother drum and it has been working great.

My first PG 40 lasted only 2 months, disappointing as cartridge cost was one of deciding factors in buying my Canon Pixma MP 170. $20 (Staples) was low compared to previous printer cartridge but not for two month usage. With next cartridge, I used "fast" print option and continued to use for 1-2 months after "low ink" message appeared, this one lasted 5-6 months, which is o.k. for cost. I then had one refilled at Cartridge World and it lasted only 45 days, tho I was doing somewhat more printing during that time period. Use "fast/draft" option,and ignore low print message,--just print till it's out of ink ----and it will last much longer. I will probably buy from Amazon as cost is lower (providing you order $25 and get free S & H) and this is hard to find in my area.

I have used Canon printers for years. I recommend them to people for their low per-page costs...

Those that use THIS cartridge though, are an exception. This cartridge has an in-cartridge ink counter that tells me I'm out of ink way before I actually do run out of ink. Additionally, the counter cannot be reset, so there is no refill market on these forcing you to buy retail.

I bought an MP470 printer on 9/4/08. I put in a full black ink cartridge (PG-40)and made no more than 30-35 copies on regular paper. It shows that it needs to be replaced. I called Canon and was told that the average number of pages would be 355 for one PG-40 cartridge. I thought the cartridge might be defective but the tech support person tells me that it would show an "error" on the printer if that was the case.

I will continue to use the cartridge until it totally runs out of ink but I am very unhappy with the number of pages I was able to print.
