The good:
Clear plastic to see ink level. Refill hole pre-drilled and plugged. Printer resets ink level when cartridge is removed and installed as advertised.
The bad:
The printer does not always recognize the cartridge when installed. However, multiple attempts (pop cartridge out and put it back in, takes a matter of seconds) has always resolved the problem for me. Sometimes when I change one cartridge the printer must check all the cartridges because a different cartridge will not be recognized. Again re-installing it has always worked.
When I first used these cartridges I printed a few hundred pages one day. The next day I had to run the printer head cleaning function many times to get certain colours to print. However, I just printed a colour image without any problems and the printer has sat for a few days so this is another relatively minor issue.
The ugly: My old Lexmark printer and ink cartridges with non-resetting microchips.

I order this kit hoping it would help me save money on the expensive cartridges. I had bought the Epson printer when I purchased my Apple desktop computer. I thought the printer was a deal that the time of the purchase but then later learned that you can't just have these ink cartridges refilled at a store as you can with other printer cartridges. I tried using this product, at 1st I thought it didn't fit my printer and thought about sending it back. I studied it better a 2nd time a realized that I may have placed it the wrong direction. The usual cartridges from the store have only one hole, refillable cartridges have two holes. I retried placing the cartridge in the printer and found that they do work! I will continue to use these because it is a lot more convenient to refill the ink and save you a lot more money!
