We have been using these inks for just about 5 months now on a very heavy basis (work related). The inks are a great buy and we have not had a problem with installing or clogging. HOWEVER, and this is a HUGE HOWEVER: If you want to print photos DO NOT BUY THIS INK! Images we printed faded within 2 months of normal viewing conditions. These inks are not archival at all and will not preserve your images. We will continue using the inks for not critical tasks such as text printing but NOT for images.

If you buy these inks for printing photos after reading this well, I told you so...

This is a money saver and the product works just as well as the much more expensive name brand. Our Canon printer is very fussy with it comes to print cartridges but this ink is perfect for printing and even light photography. I'm very pleased with the product and will continue to order it. I just purchased this ink refill kit as well as the black kit (921-bk) to refill my canon mp-160 printer cartridges. This is my first time refilling cartridges and I have to say that it was an excellent experience. Total time to fill both cartridges was about 15 minutes, 10 of which was getting set up at the table and making sure I didn't make a mess.

My first thoughts were that the instructions were in ENGLISH and not translated poorly from another language. They were clear, concise, and accurate so there was no mistaking what you were supposed to do.

Second, the ink comes with nice syringe type applicators with rubber caps so you can safely store the unused ink.

Lastly, I have a few suggestions that make life a little easier. The directions tell you to remove the label from the top of the cartridge. The sticker is difficult to get peeled up and ends up coming off as little pieces. To avoid this, get a razor blade, sharp knife or something similar and CAREFULLY slide it under the edge of the label. You will be able to easily peel the label up and get a good hold on it to pull it off in one peice.

Also, don't use the included drill bit unless you absolutely have to. There is the risk that you can get plastic particles into the cartridge and cause problems. Granted I do not know how much of an issue this is but i would rather be on the safe side. Use a paper clip, awl, or small screw driver heated over a flame to melt the hole larger. Doing this causes the plastic to get pushed up so you will need to trim this off using a rasor blade so the hole is flush again.

After filling, I printed a picture to test the ink and it came out beautifully. I cannot see the difference between this and the orignial cartridge. The price Can't be beat either. I got two of each of the color and black refill kits and it only cost me $30 shipped to my door in 3 days.

This is the second time I have ordered these refills from this seller and I am satisfied for the most part. The packaging is great and it arrives always on time or before the scheduel due date. The only Major complaint I have is if you order two refills at the same time like I did, One (1) Black Ink and One (1) Color Ink, I'm charged a seperated shipping on each of the item (thats two (2) shipping charges in total, even if it's shipped in one box, and the shipping charges are so much more money then the item itself, I think that's unfair. The shipping charges for these ink refills are very expensive and I really don't see why the seller charges TWO shipping charges, I feel he should charge one shipping fee when they are being mailed in one box, I will be surfing the internet for another company to order from next time.

Although this was slightly messier than the single black ink refill, I hardly made a mess at all. Works perfectly, lets me reuse my cartridges, and so much cheaper than buying whole new cartridges. Two complete refills per package. So worth it...I will definitely be buying again!

Just MAKE SURE you use gloves and have paper towels handy because it can get kinda messy :) And to remove the ink from your hands is kinda hard

Update: Buying this will save you a bunch of money on ink. My printer sucks up ink like crazy and I refuse to keep paying almost 25 bucks for each cartridge. I have refilled my cartridge already 3 times with just this item. Soo Yeah I think this is worth it. I don't think I will ever buy cartridges again.

I opted for the XL rather than the normal 61 cartridge, I've had it for about 8 months (with slightly above average use, I am a student so occasionally have to print 50+ page scholarly articles, research papers, etc.) and have not had to replace it yet.

You would think that ordering am inkjet for a fax machine would be fairly simple. After all, you could just jump in your car and go to the nearest office supply store like Staples or Office Max to get the same product. In the future, that is exactly what I am going to do.

I make only infrequent use of my Canon Multipass printer, sometimes letting it stand idle for several weeks. For whatever reason, the black ink tanks clog the printhead after prolonged disuse whereas the color ones keep functioning. Although more likely to happen with a clone, the same has occurred with Canon originals. Before throwing out the printer (and I've come close), run it through the cleaning cycle at least 5 successive times and try printing again. If it's still not working right, do another 5 cleaning cycles. So far, that's done the trick for me, but if 10 times doesn't produce the desired result, you'll need to do some invasive surgery on the printhead itself.

As for using cartridges from clone manufacturers, my experience has been that they often require far more "priming" than the original manufacturer's product. As a result, you're wasting ink and saving less money than you may have thought.

Also, when ordering Canon ink supplies, beware the manufacturer's confusing and inconsistent use of the terms "ink cartridge" and "ink tank." It's led to my receiving the wrong item on more than one occasion.

I bought my printer/copier less than a month ago and it came with a BCI-21 Black and BCI-21 Color ink tank. I have not been using the machine that much yet and while I was copying a few pages which required black ink, suddenly the black prints just were not showing. I have not even printed more than 100 pages since I got my printer. I still have color ink coming out but black is missing in my pages.

Try printing out using the quick draft, or whatever lower quality setting you have below the normal default setting. I started doing this the past few years and have cut down on my ink usage by atleast 1/3rd to 1/2. My printer prints them out well either way, and I cant even tell the diff. Thanks to my friend who gave me this tip. I used to think oh... my printer quality will be horrible, so i tried it, and the quality was the same for my printer. can hardly tell the diff.

DEF get this high yield one, I notice that i def get more bang for my buck with this one, especially since amazon has such amazing prices.
