Everydaysource 3 Pack of Canon PGI-220BK Compatible Black Ink Review
The cartridges (purchased from "Everydaysource") arrived quickly and nicely vacuum packaged, each in individual box. They match the cartridges shown in pictures. I did not get the opportunity to use them yet but I've been using identical cartridges for a year now, without a single issue. They work and perform as well as the original Canon ink cartridges.

CIS Ink System for Epson 79 Ink: Stylus Photo 1400 Printer Review
I purchased this Ink system in late February having heard here and there that bulk ink was a way around the ludicrous cost of Epson branded ink.
I'll admit it was a bit of a hassle to get it working right, but at the end of the day, the few hours it took to get the tubes safely routed out of the printer were absolutely worth it. After three months of printing several photo-quality documents per day (Letter or larger, most Tabloid or Super-B sized) as well as transparencies for graphic design projects and double sided full bleed printer spreads for small pamphlets and magazines, only one color (Light Cyan) is running low.
Some benefits that are not addressed in the description: When a cartridge gets low (according to the Epson Utility), it resets at about 10% capacity to 100% capacity and runs the print head through a cleaning cycle. This keeps everything nice and neat. I've only had to adjust/clean/realign the print head a couple of times, and only because of very slight streaking almost invisible to the naked eye.
This system, unlike many, allows the lid to be closed, given the tubes are installed appropriately.
Drawbacks:
As another owner has reported, the system seems to overprint Cyan and light Cyan. It's quite obvious, now that these are the two cartridges that need replacement first. It's also rather clear when printing "Black and White" images they generally end up with a cool tint, sometimes rather severe. Blacks are very rich and dense, but middle and dark grays tend to shift slightly to cyan or cyan and yellow. Compensating in the drivers with less cyan and yellow, it is possible to eliminate this effect. No other colors seem to be flawed, and the same vibrant gamut can be achieved with the off-brand ink as Epson's own.
The directions provided with the system are some of the worst I have seen. Many of the photos aren't even of the Epson 1400, and might as well be omitted entirely. Several steps are misleading or unclear, and ultimately, encourage the system to be set up in a way that causes the tubes to rub on the paper exactly where ink has just be printed. My final solution involved using some IKEA cable management zip-ties and adhesive brackets to create a bridge over the main opening in the printer and replace the "T-Bracket" that is supplied with most CIS systems. I also added a few felt pads along the tubing where it was rubbing against non-moving parts of the printer so that the friction and abrasion wouldn't wear through or cause it to catch.
Overall: This has been a fantastic product, and I have recommended it to all fellow design students. It's a perfect way to cut costs during school, and likely into the professional world. With only the ink provided with the system, I've saved hundreds (4 to 5 sets of cartridges = $400+), and with a new set of bottles, that bulk savings ought to continue for quite some time. Even if the printer or system fails now, it's paid for itself, twice over.
The packaging is well designed and thought out. The system itself took some time to install--about 40 minutes. It also took me some time to get the tubes adjusted properly, but now it works wonders. And the system automatically resets when your computer thinks the ink is empty. All-in-all I am impressed with the design of the product.
As for the ink itself, I notice that prints have a slight Cyan cast in the blacks compared to the Epson 79 Claria ink. It has not caused any problems for me however. In general the colors are just as vivid as the Claria, particularly in the warmer hues.
The best part is that I love not worrying about using up my precious ink! I can print for days now, and for 2/3 the price! I was a little skeptical, but a classmate purchased the same cis and convinced me. I wish I had done it last year!

However, after saying that the manual was just horrible.
I saw a flaw in the set-up, it was how the ink tube is attached to the side of the cartridge well with the provided stick on clip. The clip that is placed on the side wall always pops out whether from being stationary or when the printer is in use. What I did was removed that clip and part of that set up and just run the feeder tubes from the T-bracket clip that is placed on the top, straight to the ink cartridge well. At first when I followed the instructions the feeder tube was constantly hitting the bottom of the printing area and it was scrapping over the print while it was in the process of printing. I adjusted the length of the feeder tube so that it has enough play for the ink cartridge box to maneuver side to side. Now it works well and the feeder tube is not scrapping over the print. On a long term basis, the feeder tube is made up of low quality plastic (made in China) and eventually it will crack. I am just waiting for that day to happen. But till now it is working great!!!
I started to look at different types of paper to print on and it still beats going to the print shop. The only thing you have to know about this is to know your "settings" before you print. This was the problem I was having earlier but once I got that patted down it made my work easier. I work on a Mac and the color off from the print is close to identical to what I have on the screen. I have taken some manual print and print production courses and they really help on understanding what you can do. Like I said, know your software and your paper!!! It's the operator who will make it really happen. The software and the machines are just tools of the trade.
I have told this system to a colleague of mine who also owns an Epson Stylus Photo 1400 and he is very impress with the output. He also was purchasing costly ink cartridges. After I told him about this system he got it and is loving it!

As a Graphic Designer, I was going broke trying to replace those small ink cartridges on a daily or weekly basis. I was ecstatic to find this great continuous ink system for my printer. I've had this for 7 months now and I really love it. The print quality is very good and I'm saving tons of money on ink. Installation was a bit tricky and I have to keep the lid open when I'm printing so that it doesn't make so much noise with the tubes hitting the lid. I purchased the CIS ink system for my Epson Stylus Photo 1400 printer about a month ago for printing my projects at home. I print mostly on 11x17's for my projects and the ink goes out really fast. I was hesitant about purchasing this system after reading what others have posted. As a student the OEM ink cartridges was eating my pocket book so I took the chance and purchase it. There's nothing wrong with this cartridge, compatible with the HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 printers. Except that it's rated for only 900-1000 pages. For only a little more you can get the larger 940XL set. Why did buy this set then? Because I didn't pay attention.
The 900-1000 pages rating is based on HP's testing methodology meaning that it's highly unlikely that you will get 1000 pages out of your cartridge unless all you do is print plain text. If you make copies, if you print photos, if you use the high quality settings you are going to run out of ink much sooner.
HP claims (couldn't verify) that using Officejet inks on papers with the ColorLok logo the output will retain color quality 'for decades'. Such an ink/paper combination, according to HP, will produce documents that resist water and fading.
Which one to order? At the time I wrote this review I got more value by far with the larger cartridge but this set should be okay if you are not a heavy user.

Do not buy cartridges from DVD Ink Refills. They are genuine but they are probably expired. In order to hide the expiration date, they mailed to me only the cartridges with their HP wrapping but without the original HP box. Unfortunately, the wrapping does not have any expiration date written on it. (There is something that looks like a date and, if it is really a date, then one of the cartridges expired five years ago.) I'm not sure what that other reviewer got but I can say that I received genuine HP packaging and genuine 940 B/W and Color cartridges. My HP officejet Pro 8500 had no trouble recognizing the ink. As with most "remanufactured" items, you expect a lessening of quality: bad/worn circuit interface, poor ink quality, etc. However, that's not the case with the LD cartridge I purchased. There are no problems with the printer recognizing and utilizing the cartridge just as if it were a new one from Epson: you just don't have to pay the artificially inflated prices the printer-manufacturers are charging.More than a year ago, Forbes reported that printer-ink had exceeded the cost of oil on a per barrel basis. That's just ridiculous. Pay as little as you can for ink, if only to deny these rip-offs from the printer-manufacturers. And, with the LD cartridge, you can pay the least while getting the same quality as you would with the over-priced manufacturer.

I purchased these for $15 thinking that at the very worst I would get a little bit of printing out of these before I have to search elsewhere for better ones. I can pleasantly say that I was completely wrong. These inks have lasted me a very long time and performed very well.I have had these inks in my printer for about 5 months now and it is just now starting to tell me I need to replace them soon. Granted, I don't use them that often. I probably print stuff maybe a few times a week but other inks I have had have dried out when I don't use them for extended periods of time. These have been going strong much longer than anticipated.
I am very satisfied and extremely happy with these ink cartridges. These are a great value.

I live on reviews, won't buy anything until I've read what everyone anywhere has to say, however..,.I am horrible on leaving one myself for others. Since this purchase was such a difficult decision for me I thought this time I should make a point to review these. I researched for days reading about printer ink, terrified to use any ink that was not the name brand ink for my Brother MFC-490CW, thinking this option would be too good to be true. At long last I decided to try these, I figured the worst that could happen is I would loose $20 and would know better in the future. The toner cartridges I bought supposedly fit my Brother MFC-6490CW printer, but in fact they did not. Their configuration is substantially different from the manufacturer's cartridge and the printer would not recognize nor use the ones I received from this company. I should have known, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. It took me several tries to even get the ink in place. After, I printed 4 pages with no problem. I was thinking I made quite the find. The next day, I tried to print and got a message to check the ink. I readjusted many times and still nothing. Then I noticed my fingers were discolored from the ink. The only good thing I can say about this ink is that it comes off of your fingers in a day or two...

The price was certainly good. When I removed the cover on the ink before putting it into the machine ink leaked out. That was an unpleasant & staining surprise. So far it seems to be printing OK, although I have not replaced all the cartridges that I had in the machine before. I need to replace the yellow one now. I needed a gray & I see that it is below here to be evalutated. This ink cartridge is small, seems to use up ink quickly, and a moderate price. I am not sure how many pages I printed with each cartridge since it was a few years ago. I know I was happy with it. I believe that I only needed this one cartridge rather than the 4 cartridges that I need now. "Works great, Last a long time".. Wish Green Products had a recycle policy for used cartridges. Canon's mailers ALMOST make me willing to pay their price.
To their credit the company emailed me the next day to ask why I was returning the ink, apparently Amazon doesn't let the seller in on this information until the item is received. They told me they have never encountered this problem and thought maybe the chips were bad, and could they send 1 or 2 cartridges back for me to try on my printer to investigate why the original ones did not work. But I no longer have the printer so I couldn't help them with that.
I would try their products again, but I would order ahead of time in case I had problems.

They told me they have never encountered this problem and thought maybe the chips were bad, and could they send 1 or 2 cartridges back for me to try on my printer to investigate why the original ones did not work. But I no longer have the printer so I couldn't help them with that.
I would try their products again, but I would order ahead of time in case I had problems.

Compared to "Box Store" and Manufacturer prices this cartridge is fairly priced.
I checked at Wal-Mart. The Standard HP 60 that prints average of about 200 pages was 2/3 of the price this cartridge that prints an average of 600 pages.
This is also the same product code I previously ordered from HP's web site. Here it is a much lower price.
Amazon once again helped me say money by its association with dependable supplies at affordable prices.

This was a very fair price for the same ink I would buy at Staples. I'm happy with it. Great.
