Buy HP Remanufactured 88XL ink cartridges: Black, Cyan, Magenta

First of all, these cartridges are a lot cheaper than the hp's and print with the same quality. But the external plastics are not transparent but gray and some decals about the right way to install are backwards. Overall great savings. To arrive they took a little bit longer than expected.

For HP printers that take this cartridge know that this is the smaller black cartridge. The bigger one is CB321WNXL which is for text mostly I suppose.

Photo black has a camera logo on the front. Amazon's picture is not correct.

When I had a batch of photos to print (I use the HP 7520 Photosmart printer, btw),

I got the XL size thinking it would save me time and money in having to order more ink cartridges.

I was totally wrong, I was barely even able to print 20 US letter size (8.5x11 in) photos (with barely any black or dark colors) before hearing that dreaded low ink warning.

The low ink warning comes on earlier, and it's real, by the 18th photo, I noticed that the very left edge was colory (meaning the color cartridges were working but the photo black was low).

I normally get about 12-15 photos of the same size printed with the regular capacity 564's.

It turns out that XL is not more ink, after all, they say "up to" and that is no gaurantee (and of course it never meets that expecation). Don't waste your money. The regular 564's (even still horrendously expensive) have more ink, plus the low ink warning is at a lower threshold.

If you are going to be doing a lot of printing at home, this is the way to go, especially for plain black and white documents, grayscale and run-of-the-mill color. My wife needed to print a lot of documents for a Paralegal law class, so that is a perfect fit. The Savings really add up fast and the convenience is great even versus free printing at school. The Color results are plenty good enough for most items, too. The only drawback is: The thumb drill WILL NOT do the job, it is not sharp enough to start cutting in to the plastic. You will need a 1/16 drill bit, which is the exact size needed and a cordless or plug-in drill. Even a small one is sufficient for this task. So, do The Math and start saving with the 4x250ml. package!

My package arrived very fast. ink matches color perfect. the only gripe i have is that the bottles have no rubber gaskets, in case the bottles were to tip over( my cat knocked over my magenta bottle was closed tightly but still leaked ) .Its okay no biggie .but as for the product great product. I just cant reset my cl 241xl ink levels . but that has nothing to do with this ink and all to do with canon...

occasionally get streaks from printer but i just print out another test page. I can deal with wasting a piece of paper here and there instead of getting the $30 ink cartlidge. Drilling the holes in there did SUCK but after you done it one time its easy just make sure you wear gloves. The tool to make the hole with is useless (unless you got 20 minutes to spare) It would otherwise get a 5/5

I've used refill kits for years, and this is the first one that actually worked well. The measured plungers are essential! The thumb drill doesn't work, but if you have a drill, it's an easy downside to overlook.

I've been paying that big price for the HP cartridge tried the cartridge store refills since I go through so much ink... didn't work at all. The store replaced it with a second that failed as well, so I went back to HP. I tried the PerformancePlus+ on a whim, plugged it in and BAM! it works great! If there is any critical difference in the quality, it isn't apparent to me. I am so happy to have found an inexpensive alternative to the HP cartridges!

Well, I normally have had good luck with other brands of re-manufactured ink cartridges. This brand though, stinks! It has ink in it, I can hear it slosh around. But it can barely print any trace of words. I went through 4 cycles of cartridge cleaning and still no luck. I would have to say this is complete junk, and to not purchase this brand.

Bought two of these cartridges to try on my HP PSC500 figuring that at this price it would be worth checking out. Both of them failed miserably. After vigorous shaking and cleaning I got maybe one or two pages of clear black printing, and then the pages went back to smeared, smudged and streaky print. Failed experiment, and I will never buy these again. Might try some other manufacturers, but Performance Plus is off my list now.

I am a printer repair tech. I have been very happy with the ease of use of this machine. So far, my only problem has been a jam that I was unable to clear for more than an hour. The Epson Photo 750 is one of the best color printers I have seen in its price range, and the heart of that quality is this cartridge. Colors are solid and rich, even at normal 360 resolution. The ink droplets are extremely small, producing smooth gradations and very sharp text. Unfortunately, the cartridge seems to be in limited supply, and not available at all in my area. Notwithstanding, it is a quality product.

I've had the same Epson printer for almost 10 years now, and have used a lot of these cartridges. The genuine Epson cartridges have been fantastic: good ink, no clogs. They last a while too.

My only gripe with this cartridge is that it's not easily refillable, if at all. I've never tried, because I've never found a kit to do it.

Sure, my Epson Stylus Photo is old, but it works fine and has always used the "piano key" (and "kite" for color) ink cartridges.

No need to toss it in a landfill when there's nothing wrong with it, and buying cartridges just isn't difficult with Amazon right at my fingertips. I'll save my $$$ for something I really need.

I do notice that the printer works much better and the cartridges last longer if the machine is in regular use. If I let it sit around for several weeks without printing, it does seem to dry up and I have to run several cleaning cycles and a few bad print jobs before it's back to normal. Even black-only printing uses a bit of color, so any kind of printing will keep it functional.

I'd give this product 3.5 stars, but it won't let me. The product is decent. My only complaint is that to get it going and working well I had to run around 30 copies. The cartridges leaked a bit at first, but after running several copies, it seems to have caught on.

It's not the very best I've seen, but it works, and not too shabby. I'd recommend the purchase for the price. It's a good buy.

The inks are vibrant and transfer well.

We do a ton of thermoplastics with custom transfers. We found these guys by blind luck, tried their inks and have since ordered again (as I write this, I actually need to place another order).

The Epson K3 Inks may be expensive, but the T580400 cartridge packs lots of ink and goes a long way. As for prints with K3 pigment inks, they are just stunning and rated to last many many years. I am only limited by my own work.

TIPS:

If you don't print "often", you might consider running a Manual nozzle check at least weekly to keep the ink flowing. The frequency may vary based on the humidity of the room, age of your inks, etc., but you want to avoid clogged nozzles!!! A friend of mine spent $700 to have his print heads replaced due to clogs. Ouch!

If the nozzle check shows a few breaks in the print pattern, wait 15 minutes and run another Manual nozzle check. If your printer is slightly clogged, this may resolve the problem. Hope this helps!

However, having had an H-P printer destroyed by a failed "just as good as" cartridge with no recourse to the manufacturer, I feel I have no choice but to purchase the OEM cartridges.
