Epson EPSON T0... K3 ink cartridgs for my EPSON Stylus PHOTO R2400 are great in quality and easy to use. However, this is how EPSON makes money. All the ink cartridges run out of ink quickly, especially light cyan, light magenta, light black and light light black. I wonder if the cartridges are half full. It costs me a fortune to print the hundreds of images I print for my semi-pro photography business. Don't pay a premium price buying direct from EPSON but go through AMAZON to one of the reliable outlets such as ADORAMA or B&H to save $3 per cartridge. I have tried refilled cartridges but they leaked and didn't print. Nor did the (not to be named) company give me my hundred bucks back. Bulk ink systems exist but are usually rated 3* because you have to cut a hole in the printer to the feed the ink cable and they perform marginally. EPSON no longer sells a bulk ink system for the R2400 and I wonder when I will no longer be able to buy ink. Catcha 22! I love the printer and print quality (love EPSON paper too) but will not buy another EPSON printer unless it comes with a bulk ink supply system.

Was a bit nervous because of the low price, but the three ink cartridges arrived in the time specified, in manufacturer's box, plastic-wrapped. No problems with the product; installed the cartridges and the printer worked immediately; ran a nozzle check and it was perfect. Couldn't be happier!

There are two places I can find ink for my R2400 other than amazon. Adorama (which sells them in amazon) and Atlex.

Both are almost the same as far as pricing except Adorama's shipping is free. Atlex is close to my studio so I can drive there if I want to pick up some ink or paper the same day if it is required.

On a side note I hate that companies try to force you to upgrade and create landfills of these machines that work well. I had to run a special program to stop the printer from auto-stopping which Epson does to make sure the quality of it's prints doesn't diminish which is another way of saying that you need to throw away the machine and buy another. Planned Obsolescence in other words. I hope to continue using this printer for several more years. The price of ink has gone up every year and it used to cost $9 and now it's up to $13 per cartridge.

I have had my Epson 2400 printer for 4 years now. Still going strong, produces great pictures. Epson ink is very good. But just like any other inkjet printer. They are making quit a bit of money on the ink. A whole inkset for this printer is $100 at a discounted price. And in the years since it has been out and replaced by a newer updated unit. The price of the ink has not gone down. But what can you do. Once you buy the printer your stuck with buying their ink until you get a differnt printer.

There's nothing wrong with this cartridge, compatible with the HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 printers. Except that it's rated for only 900-1000 pages. For only a little more you can get the larger 940XL set. Why did buy this set then? Because I didn't pay attention.

The 900-1000 pages rating is based on HP's testing methodology meaning that it's highly unlikely that you will get 1000 pages out of your cartridge unless all you do is print plain text. If you make copies, if you print photos, if you use the high quality settings you are going to run out of ink much sooner.

HP claims (couldn't verify) that using Officejet inks on papers with the ColorLok logo the output will retain color quality 'for decades'. Such an ink/paper combination, according to HP, will produce documents that resist water and fading.

Which one to order? At the time I wrote this review I got more value by far with the larger cartridge but this set should be okay if you are not a heavy user.

Do not buy cartridges from DVD Ink Refills. They are genuine but they are probably expired. In order to hide the expiration date, they mailed to me only the cartridges with their HP wrapping but without the original HP box. Unfortunately, the wrapping does not have any expiration date written on it. (There is something that looks like a date and, if it is really a date, then one of the cartridges expired five years ago.) In any case, there is no reason to take the risk: avoid DVD Ink Refills.

I'm not sure what that other reviewer got but I can say that I received genuine HP packaging and genuine 940 B/W and Color cartridges. My HP officejet Pro 8500 had no trouble recognizing the ink. Even the printer read and identified the cartridge sensor as being a genuine HP cartridge. So far so good.

So far I have just used the cyan cartridge. My printer has to be cleaned every time I print if I want cyan to come out. I get a lot of printouts that look red because there is no blue in them. I'll update this review as I install the other cartridges. If this holds true of the other cartridges, I'll go back to using Costco to fill my ink.

In that price I could not even buy 1 original cartridge, and the results are the same.

Cannot tell how much time it will last, but it works fine for now.

The only thing that I noticed, is that my printer prompt me that it is not an origin cartridge, but when I continued with installing it the cartridge monitor showed that it is full, which means it did identify it.

I ordered these which came fast in the mail, but once I installed the cartridge my printer says does not recognize. These ink cartridges are useless since my printer won't print with these installed. On the one hand, the Dura-Brite formula produces printouts that are resistant to the sort of smearing that ink jet output in known for. On the other hand, this same formula may be what has forced me -and many others, according to the reviews I've read -to trash the C84 ink jet printer. Many people, myself included, have found that said printer suddenly stops working because of clogs that can't be unclogged, and one widely accepted theory is that this ink has dried to such an ultra-hard consistency that it has gummed up the works beyond all repair. So if you have an Epson ink jet printer that's still working, just be very careful to follow all recommended precautions to keep it working -and keep your fingers crossed. If you're trying to decide on a printer, I can't recommend Epson and this Dura-Brite ink.

I've used this in my CX6400 printer for about the past three weeks now. I've copied numerous papers and printed many internet pages. So far, it's about 1/3 of the way through. If there is something like it doesn't use the last 10% of its cartridge ink, I'll keep you posted. Epson has good printers but they seem to last for about 2 years & break down when installing a new ink cartridge. The C86 printer is the third Epson printer I have experienced replacing the ink cartridge with the printer failing to work any longer leaving me with an unused ink cartridge. This is my 3rd Epson printer for which this has happened. It is hard to imagine that this could be Epson's strategy. When the printer works with the ink, the ink & printer are good.

Cheap Lexmark 18C1428 Return Program Print Cartridge Black

Have owned several. Current one is the 5400 series. Prints okay but is low quality. HP 2100 series or higher are much better but more expensive. I own both. I use the Lexmark for mostly scanning to PDF. The Lexmark Cartridges are way over priced for what they do: Regular one like the 28 gives about 175 printed pages ($18) while the expanded one like the 35 gives you 500 printed pages ($28). That is a very low quantity for the money, plus they are low quality pages when printed not crisp. I will not buy another one. I will buy HP printer and get me a solo scanner that also copies. But for a low budget and unprofessional home requirements these Lexmark printers and cartridges are just okay. You can do better if you can afford an HP. The long term lifecycle cost of owning an HP would probably be lower and more satisfying. Plus the Lexmark Black 28 cartridges are hard to find except online, and online they are not cheap and you must pay shipping too. Not a great deal long term as you must buy new cartridges all the time too frequently. And the printers cannot stand the test of time and use and must be replaced sooner than others. I am tired of going to Staples, Walmart etc and being told that the Black 28 is sold out since there is such a high demand since the cartridges give out so early. NOT GOOD. Avoid Lexmark unless that is all you can afford or do not have a requirement for better printing. But be prepared to be nickled and dimed to death over repeat expenses.

I was able to use a Amazon gift card for this purchase. I did so, but after reviewing other sites, I found out that this was the cheapest price I could find, even without a gift card. I always use the brand name inks because of how they are made. The manufactures of printer inks all have different formulas for their products. A lot of people don't realize that ink has to be made a certain way, with certain pigments and dyes for the make of the printer. So, in that way the jets on the print head won't deteriorate,or become damaged by a bad product. or, a sub-standard product.

I said all the that, to basically say, that this was a good deal, at a fair price. JPN

I rarely use this cartridge but have to replace the cartridge every month or so. Printer software constantly reminds me to reorder a new cartridges. I have explored having the cartridge refilled and Walgreens would not refill it. I tried refilling the cartridge myself and the printer software would not let me reuse the cartridge. The print quality is good but the cost is too high to continue using this printer. I will be replacing my Lexmark printer for a Kodak. I don't think I will but this brand again.

When you bought a Lexmark printer you bought a piece of ripoff garbage, whose only function is to market low-production ink cartridges. Ink cartridges are where the money is in all these inkjet printers/faxes/copiers, regardless of the manufacturer. That's why the manufacturers are virtually giving away the machines.

You'll get less than 50 copies from this grossly overpriced cartridge. That's well more than 40 cents per copy of nothing but black ink. And if you don't use it regularly, it'll dry up and produce no print at all, in which case you might get ONE copy from it.

The companies manufacturing these inkjet machines are run by criminals who are systematically defrauding the public. The manufacture of inkjet printers should be prohibited by federal law.

I use this cartridge in an X2500 all in one printer. The prints are of an acceptable quality. But what I find to be annoying is that the cartridge stops printing when it 'thinks' that it is out of ink, and the printer then forces you to use the color cartridge instead to 'complete a print'.

I much prefer HP's method, where you decide when the prints are no longr of an acceptable quality. With this cartridge in this printer, you will never know if you are throwing away ink... And after a while, this could add up to quite a bit given the cost of these cartridges.

I have a epson and I wanted to use a more cost efficient way to refill the ink. After a little research I noticed alt of people complained about cheap ink from overseas that ruined their printers. I ended up on Owl Ink and am absolutely happy with the choice. I do notice my printer constantly needs to run alignment checks if I don't use it frequently. I bought it for photos as I recently had my first son. The color quality is near perfect to epson ink, just a little less saturated, which you can adjust in settings I believe.

Quick review:

Merchandise arrived on time, well-packaged and exactly as advertised. The directions were adequate. After a minor amount of encouraging, the printer (XP-400) accepted the new cartridges and functioned normally. I found the supplied ink did not exactly match the original Epson ink, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. The prints I am getting look very good.

Details:

I was apprehensive about trying refillable cartridges mainly because of scare-story reviews (like one in this forum). After much research I chose to go with InkOwl because they had: 1) a great website, clear and easy to navigate; 2) a plainly stated satisfaction policy; 3) and an 800 number, which I called as a part of my research and was able to speak with a pleasant, knowledgeable human being. (By the way, the deal you get through Amazon is better than direct from InkOwl.)

The included instructions are adequate; easily read and understood by anyone having a basic knowledge of the process to begin with.

Filling the cartridges with ink is not difficult but does require a bit of manual dexterity. Caution: the supplied syringes have very sharp needles and could possibly damage the cartridges or you. (I would prefer something besides sharpened hypo-needles for filling.)

On first installing the filled cartridges the printer gave a message saying it could not recognize the cartridges and suggested they be reinstalled. The printer lists which specific cartridges it cannot recognize. As it told me which cartridge(s) it could not recognize I pulled them part way up and snapped them back into place. On the fifth or sixth try it was able to "recognize" all of them. At that point came a succession of dire warnings about using non-Epson inks. After proceeding fearlessly through those warnings the printer was ready to use.

I have worked professionally in graphic arts and digital photographic printing, and am a critical judge of results. Without going into too much detail, I found the InkOwl ink to be slightly more saturated than Epson's, especially the magenta. For printing graphics that should pose no problem. For more subtle, full-tone images I found my best results were obtained by saving a settings adjustment in Printer Preferences to slightly increase the cyan, slightly reduce the magenta and the saturation, and greatly reduce the contrast (all in the "Epson Vivid" mode).

Matching of printed images to a screen image is a notoriously tricky business and your results may be different. I was at first going to give four stars just because the InkOwl ink did not truly match Epson as implied, but the fact is that after my corrections I am getting prints that, while not the same as they would be with Epson inks, are a very good screen match for me -what more could I ask? Besides, there are bound to be variations among ink batches.

To this point it has been a good experience (one full day of making test prints). I have had no post-purchase contact with InkOwl but will certainly update this review should that occur, or should any other issues arise.

For what it's worth: call me suspicious, but I can't help wondering about reviews where someone gives a bad rating to a product and issues warnings about its use, but they don't bother to mention whether they even TRIED to resolve problems with the company. Like I say, the one fellow I spoke with at InkOwl was friendly, knew his stuff, and seemed happy to answer my questions. Make of that what you will.
