If you can find the CB309BN HP 02 ink package for less than $60, it is truly the best you can do at this time (Feb 2009). Ink is expensive, and the measures of ink within the cartridge are crucial to its worth. This particular package has the same amount of ink in each cartridge that is in the individual cartridges sold separately. The combo pack with free photo paper (Q7964AN) contains reduced levels of ink in each cartridge. There is one other combo pack that contains full ink levels (CC604FN), that I'm aware of, and it doesn't contain the black cartridge. The pack we are discussing here CB309BN contains the following product numbers and measures of ink:

C8721WN HP 02 black 10 ml

C8773WN HP 02 yellow 6 ml

C8772WN HP 02 magenta 3.5 ml

C8775WN HP 02 light magenta 5.5 ml

C8771WN HP 02 cyan 4 ml

C8774WN HP 02 light cyan 5.5 ml

I ordered from 'imagewarehouse' at what seemed like a great price. The ink cartridges came in a shipping box in separate sealed containers, NOT in the combo-pack box pictured above. This would have been fine, BUT the cartridges were starter ones, only providing about half as much ink as they are supposed to have. This is the same issue as some have complained about in the 'photo-pack' HP Photo Value Pack of HP 02 ink, so these might have come from an opened one of those too. Those cartridges are made to only print 150 photos, far less than the cartridges purchased separately, or in the color combo-pack here: HP 02 Inkjet Print Cartridge Color Combo Pack The thing is, this combo-pack is supposed to have the full cartridges, comparable to buying them separately, as listed on the HP website. So, in short, this is straight-up corporate robbery. Sadly, many people don't seem to know how to tell the difference between the cartridges that are legitimate, and the more meager ones, as they appear the same from the outside.

This 6-pack of HP inks (series 02) contains genuine HP ink cartridges in black and 4 colors. I paid $49.84 + $4.99 S&H for this set on 6-14-2008 from vendor "yich"; the usual price is more like $70 or so. For the real thing, you can't beat this one. The item was delivered as advertised and on time. What is there to complain about?

FALSE ADVERTISING Plain and simple! As noted in another review, the cartridges shipped by Image Warehouse are not in the original pack, and not a HP CB309BN 02 CLUB COMBO PACK as advertised. These contain much less ink, and the retailer is obviously counting on the customer not knowing that HP supplies several options. Those shipped in the "Value Pack" are like the ones that come with the printer half full. The true Combo pack is supposed to contain full cartridges like the photo these scam artists took the liberty of posting. Please understand this review applies to the dishonest vendor not the true HP cartridges, should they be in the original box and labelled as such. They would then be priced accordingly. I hope Amazon has/will bar this vendor.

I wish I would have bought the genuine ink cartridges. These ones apparently caused the yellow/black print head to get permanently clogged up and regardless of how much I cleaned the head, I could not revive it. Since the print heads are very expensive compared to the ink cartridges, I decided to trash the printer and buy another one.

Wish I had found this set of ink jet head cleaning cartridges sooner. I had wasted about half of the ink in a fresh set of ink cartridges by running nozzle cleaning cycles before I found these and ordered them. I followed the instructions implicitly late in the evening and then let them sit in the printer overnight. Two more cleaning cycles with these the next morning, reinserted my ink cartridges, and my printer was back fuctioning properly. The cleaning cartridges still have lots of cleaning fluid in them so I sealed them back up with tape and zipped them into a zip lock bag for any needed future use.

NOTE: wear a pair of latex gloves when handling these. The fluid is thin and runny and is a very diluted black in color. Despite the diluted looking color it will stain your hands a bit if you don't wear gloves. There is nothing like that mentioned in the instructions. After priming the first cleaning cartridge and noting this I also placed some newspaper under the area where I was working.

Very fast shipping, the ink is very good quality, I think I can get like 5-6 refills from these bottles, I have the Officejet 6500 and refilled the stock cartidges with maybe 10ml, stained my fingers and it wont wash off so I guess its good ink :) I followed the instructions, covered the sponge side with tape(but I might use something else next time cause it kind of drips out) for a minute or two, then let it sit there for atleast 5 minutes wiped off cartidge, put back in the printer and did a page alignment and cleaned the heads(from option menu on the printer)... the first print was dry to the touch...

one thing with this model printer(officejet 6500 wireless) is that HP has these chips in the cartridge that wont reset after it runs out of ink, so you have to hit OK when it gives you a low ink warning to continue to use the printer with low ink. You have to hit OK I think everytime you turn the printer on, I leave mine on standby so I dont deal with it everytime I need to print, hope this helps someone with the same questions I had.

For most of my work and personal printers, I use compatible toner and ink cartridges. The quality is often very good, and the price is much lower than the OEM. Lexmark, Epson, and Brother are all quite accomodating, when it comes to using compatibles. However, I haven't has as much luck with HP, due to their efforts to block compatibles. With Canon, I haven't had compatibility issues, but unfortunately I just haven't found the compatible Canon cartridges to be of satisfactory quality. They tend to not yield as much, clog regularly, and the pigments aren't true resulting in unpredictable output, between cartridges. As such, I stick to the OEM Canon cartridges. Honestly, though, I don't really mind. Canon inkjet printers often have great quality output, and the consistency of their cartridges are part of that success. With consistent true pigments, in their 211 color cartridges, things we print always look good. The 210 cartridges are similarly good quality, with rich dark black ink.

I use Epson printers whenever I need the highest quality photo work. I've owned a few in the past. For best results I stick to Epson ink. Who would know best how to 'load' their own printers for best results? If you print on an Epson, and use their ink, you have eliminated the printer as a source of any graphic or color problems. BTW, even my oldest prints, 20 or more years old, show no evidence of fading. I strongly support the use of Epson ink!

I have a large format Epson photo printer that I regularly use for proof runs of photographic work. While the end results have always been satisfactory, the so called high capacity cartridges have been a disappointment. Even with infrequent printing a large amount of ink is utilized to keep the nozzles primed/clean so you can expect to be replacing this expensive ink on a regular basis. I have tried bulk systems as an alternative but found the results to be significantly below my standards for photographic use in terms of print quality.

Popped this crap into my Epson Stylus 1400 and got a big red X on my ink status window. Clicked on 'Information' and found out the cartridge was manufactured in 2007. What a nightmare! Cartridges have a small yellow sticker on the front that says "PULL" with little illustrations showing how to remove it. (Not rocket science here.)

My wife had opened one of the yellow cartridges to install it and told me that when she did, the "ink came out everywhere". And it did, we have yellow splotches in the carpet that won't come out.

So, I'm thinking maybe it was a defective cartridge. The black ink cartridge also needed to be replaced and I'm glad I decided to change it rather than my wife!

Holding the cartridge carefully with the label up so no ink could potentially spill, I started to peel off the sticker. As soon as I had peeled the sticker off enough to uncover the hole (HP cartridge don't have a visible hole in them), black ink shot out everywhere, across my shirt and all over my hands (see my photo) and on the carpet. Fortunately I didn't get in my eyes. Who knows how long it will take to wear off my hands and forget the shirt not to mention the yellow and black stains in the carpet.

So 1 yellow and 1 black squirting ink cartridges. Two out of two is not a fluke. It's just a lousy product.

As an added note, these cartridges do not look the same as what is shown in the product photograph.

I purchased these based on the other reviews and of course the value. I bought them in October anticipating having to replace mine soon. I put the black cartridge in first and it leaked a little inside the machine but for the price I was not going to complain. I put the yellow one in next and had the same problem. I went to print about 50 pages this morning and there were multiple lines missing out of the print. Thinking it was the black cartridge I again replaced it and the problem continued. I took the black cartridge out and it had leaked all over inside the machine. I hope it does not effect the other cartridges due to the fact that it leaked into those areas. I am going to buy the HP cartridges this afternoon and we will see if my printer still works. I hope so, it cost over $300. Risk not worth the value as far as I am concerned.

Also the return on these is prorated from what I can tell. They do not refund shipping costs and you have to pay to ship them back. Not even worth the refund.

damages your printer head! worked for 2 days, then replaced print head and worked for another week, then replaced printer head the third time then used HP genuine ink and had no problem since... not worth trying to save money on these remanufactured cartidges. it'll cost you over $60 just to replace the print head!!
