Maybe it is just me, but I find HP's 564 ink designations to sometimes be confusing. This is the photo black, not the everyday black ink. This is the cartridge with the "bowtie" symbol rather than the "pentagon" featured by the ordinary black cartridge. The two are not at all interchangeable. Five stars if that is what you are looking for, and I did not think that the price was out of line. RJB.

HP ink cartridges are notoriously overpriced. I have the photosmart plus. It's a good machine but drinks more ink than a drunken sailor drinks. The cost to keep replacing the ink makes this machine not worth it! The only way to stay out of the poor house with HP printers is to buy aftermarket ink to refill your cartridges. HP protects against this (because they dishonestly make their cartridges run down so fast) by not allowing the computer chip to be reset (can someone out there make a device to do this please). So, you can use aftermarket ink to fill your cartridge but you won't get a read-out on how much ink is left...this is really annoying.

This will likely be my last HP printer...I'm sick of paying them so much for their ink when other companies are so much cheaper and offer the same or better quality products...

I'm not sure if this is a legit cartridge or not. When I opened the shipping box this cartridge was wrapped in some plastic without the retail casing but it still had the HP logos and markings. However, there was a label placed on the plastic insisting this was a new HP ink cartridge. Unfortunately my printer disagrees and is telling me this is not a genuine HP 564 Photo Black cartridge. Beware of shady seller!

I do not know what is wrong wh this item but I have never experienced low ink alert shortly after putting his item in my printer, did they not fill it up all the way? Will definitely not buy this tem from here again.

Label on cartridge fell off when I took it out. It worked once, then printer wouldn't recognize it. Threw it away and bought a new one in a store. Worked perfectly. DO NOT BUY!!!!!!

The price per print of ink jet printers is simply expensive, especially when you consider the fact that the process is probably not even close to being archival quality. Yet for most they will suffice. It is commonly believed that if you want archival you should either use silver emmulsion (what you will get if you have your prints traditionally developed by a photo lab even a one hour lab) or dye sublimation. All that being said, this ink and the printers they go into do a very good job. I've been very impressed. I don't think there is a huge difference over the last generation, but if you want the newer printers you have to make the switch to the newer ink. Good news is that it works with the current crop of paper.

What is great about this ink cartdridge is that in the canon printers it is the cartridge mostly used for black print, while the other black cartridge is used for photo prints. This keeps your cost of printing regular text a little cheaper.

Buying on Amazon isn't much cheaper than other options, but if you are signed up for Amazon Prime, it is increadibly easy to buy them and have them delievered very quickly (two days).

I've tried generic and refilled brands and I'll never do that again. I print a lot of photos and CD/DVDs and there is a huge difference in quality from the real thing and the generic. The per page price isn't that bad and I use a lot of ink. The originals go far and is worth the extra cost.

Everytime I've purchased any Canon ink cartridge, and I've purchased well over a hundred bargain brand's and Canon's, I've been extremely pleased with:

o no clogging,

o quality print,

o page count per cartridge printing,

o every cartridge printing when installed

The only negative would be their high pricing, but I guess it proves the old axiom "you get what you pay for".

The cartridges are great,no problem. The printer is the problem. It eats more then my wife. My printer in 6 months went through more ink then all of my other printers over the last 5 years. Customer service has been great (in the Philipines), they even sent me free color and black cartridges. I haven't even used the color ink and the level has dropped. Buy another brand machine.

I purchased 5 in cartridges. Upon receiving them, I loaded two of them immediately. At first they seemed to be working fine. But just a few days later, the color cartridge was out of ink... I had only printed 10 pages by then... 8 of which required black only. I swapped out cartridges..Putting in the other color. Couple days later when I went to print a black ink document. The error message appeared again. So then I had to go out and purchase new cartridges. You guessed it, NOT ONE ERROR MESSAGE!!! I am extremely disappointed. I e-mailed the company, but of course no response!

Cartridges don't work and seller does not respond to E-mail.

Printed six pages not including the test page and suddenly the cartridge started printing the top half of the sentence and not the bottom half of the line. Sent the seller and E-mail last week for defective cartridge return instructions. No response.

They were AWFUL and nothing printed, not even lightly. So I was hesitant to try again but these cartidges are pretty good. The only negative I can say is that they are a bit leaky once you first open then up. So have some paper towels ready under the cartridge as you open. But other than that they print just fine. i would buy again!

The product works as intended and as always, Amazon offers excellent service. The only issue I really have is that HP printers tend to be very wasteful of ink in order to get you to buy more ink. These ink cartridges are good quality and work well in my HP Officejet printer. My printer had trouble recognizing the full cartridges on my original order and the vendor VERY quickly rectified the issue by sending out a new order. Received my first order really fast but didn't need it for several months. When I tried to insert the cartridge the msg said incorrect cartridge. After several tries, I contacted the InkPlusToner Company and without even needing to send back the faulty product the new cartridge arrived in 2 days. I inserted it and it printed perfectly.
