I believe this is the product I ordered. Came with 3 colors plus 3 blacks. All 3 blacks appear to be the same. I refilled the original 225 and 226 cartridges. I read the instructions and watched a video online, then sort of fumbled my way through the first one. I couldn't find guidance as to where to drill, but read somewhere that the "push" circle is good. I found that wasn't the original fill hole, which is a bit further toward the rear of the cartridge, but seemed to work fine. The original hole might be much easier to drill and match the plug size. I just refilled, reset and slapped them back in the printer without doing a clean cycle or alignment, etc. Printed immediately and it looked pretty good to me. Black text was good and black. I tried a couple of photos on plain paper and nothing seems to be "off" (like red is pink or whatever). They look sharp, no bleeding. I haven't tried any really important high quality photos, so that remains to be seen, but I expect that to be fine.

Some tips I would recommend for first-timers:

1. It's a good idea to use gloves of some sort, probably latex or nitrile. I bet no matter how careful you are, a drop or two will get where you don't want it.

2. I gave up on the tiny drill almost immediately as I could see myself fiddling with it for hours. Plus the plugs that come with the kit are WAY too big to even think about jamming in the tiny hole the drill would make. I ended up using my power drill with a 5/32 (I think) bit. Kept using bigger and bigger until the plug went in but stayed tight. Make sure you don't try to go too fast and push too hard when it gets through you can shove the drill to the bottom and start going all the way through! I also held it upside down while drilling to try to minimize any shavings falling inside. I have no idea if that would happen or if it would cause problems. Don't want to find out.

3. I read that some people taped the bottom where the ink comes out (whatever that's called) as they filled them, or they keep the original orange thing to seal it. I did neither, but found that holding it over the ink bottle caught the drips. As the foam inside soaks up ink, every cartridge dripped a few times. Catching them in the bottle saves a bit.

4. The syringes seem pretty good, easy to use, very sharp! Almost like the kind they use for taking blood. Be very careful! Don't leave them where kids can get to them. But they do have a protective sleeve that snaps over the needle.

5. I put maybe 4ml in the small ones, and 10 in the bigger one (syringes are marked). More experience will show how much they will really hold without overflowing out the hole or just dripping out the bottom.

5. Take your time and make sure all the drips are done before putting them back into the printer. Wipe the outlet dry. Once you do one or two, it's impressive how quick the process is. And once the holes are drilled, I bet it would take maybe one minute each. I wouldn't recommend filling in the printer (assuming there is space) since they drip a little.

6. NOTE: Make sure you twist/press the plugs in all the way or they will catch in the printer. I found out as they made a squeak and actually fell out into the printer. Fortunately it didn't cause any damage as it pushed against them, and I fished them out without any problems.

7. I washed out the syringes to make sure there wouldn't be any dried residue. And I marked them as to which color I used just to make sure there would be no mixing.

8. Reset each one before installing. I got the orange resetter at the same time. Takes about 3 seconds and it seemed to work fine, no issues. Printer immediately recognized them as full, no surprises.

I'm impressed so far! Great product and money saver.

I haven't done extensive testing, but so far after refilling the blue, yellow and both types of black ink, I cannot tell a difference in the quality between this and the original ink. Will be purchasing this again.

Best Deals for 20oz Refill ink kit, refill set for Canon PGI-225, CLI-226 Ink

Ive been refilling canon inkcartages with the reseter, its been great, all printing is great,I refilled 5 cartrages it might have been about $1.00 of ink I used versus paying $75.00 for cartrage replacement, was and is well worth the money, when I ordered the ink refills,I bought two, basicly great product,no problems on refilling, very professional

Honest reviews on 20oz Refill ink kit, refill set for Canon PGI-225, CLI-226 Ink

Ink refill kit came with everything as advertised to refill all 5 ink cartridges, the PGI225 and CYM+Bk CLI226. Instructions are adequate but could have been more detailed. It's not really obvious which black ink you use in the PGI225/CLI226BK. I assumed the MK labeled black ink goes in the PGI225 cartridge. I have previous experience with earlier Canon ink cartridges so I'm opposed to drilling/punching extra holes in these cartridges. Instead, I flip the cartridge over and refill the cart by slowly drizzling ink from the syringe onto the exposed ink outlet hole where you can see part of the "sponge" that retains the ink. Don't touch the "sponge" so you don't damage it. The "sponge" will absorb the ink until it can't absorb anymore, that is when you know it's full. Note that if you do this, some ink may come out the small vent hole on the top side. So, you will want to protect your work surface well and use protective gloves. Also be sure the ink doesn't dry and block that vent hole. I found that manufacturer cartridges take at least 1 ml less than indicated in the included instructions. The process of refilling cartridges takes time so, be patient and careful or you'll end up painting yourself or something you didn't want to. Ink seems perfectly compatible and provides me with great results, I cannot tell the difference looking at photos using manufacturer ink or the ink supplied in this kit. Definitely a money saver...over $50 for just one set of manufacturer cartridges or about $20 for this kit which will refill one set of cartridges maybe about 20-30 times (estimated). I rotate 2 complete sets of ink cartridges so I'll refill them probably 10-15 times each before I run out of this ink. I figure this will save me at least $500 in Canon ink cartridges. It's a nice color printer but these Canon ink cartridges are so small and so expensive that if you do a lot of printing/photo prints it is well worth it to get a refill kit such as this. Highly recommend the Canon CLI226 chip resetter for the Canon CLI-226 / PGI-225 Cartridges for hassle free reuse of your ink cartridges. So, the ink kit for about $20 and the chip resetter for about $15-20, about a $40 investment that will save me well over $500 in replacement cartridges in the long run...a no-brainer, assuming nothing goes wrong and I don't knock over an ink bottle of course.

I bought a Cannon PIXMA MG5220 printer and quickly became discouraged with the extremely short life and high cost of the Cannon inkjet cartridges. Having used an HP-932 inkjet for over a decade and refilled ink cartridges, I decided to try the Amazon 20 oz Cannon refill kit. The kit worked fine with little trouble except for the pigmented black ink, the provided refill pigmented black ink quickly plugged up the printer ink head port. I do not recommend this product until the vendor improves the quality of the black pigmented ink and produces a non-clogging ink. I have provided the manufacturer with my feedback.

Used up the cartridges and did my first fill the other day. Accidentally spilled out the magenta, but other than that it was relatively painless (althouhg unexpectedly time consuming). Make sure you use some gloves and do it in your kitchen sink in case you spill (like I did). My only problem is that the rubber stopper on the matte black ink cartridge wouldn't fit back in all the way. It seems secure enough, but I just couldn't get it to fit all the way. May try to ask them for a new stopper.

I will say that after refilling the matte black cartridge, it was having a hard time printing smoothly. Even after a deep cleaning it was still a little off. But, it kept improving after each cleaning, and I'm relatively confident it will clear up with some time to sit and soak.

Overall, it's a little bit of trouble, but it's a great value.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I purchased this kit over the cheaper $10 refill kits because these cartridges have rubber refill stoppers, and are designed for easier refilling. A lot of the other kits use some form of tape that you use to cover holes that you drill. While workable, I always thought that method to be a bit dicey. I figured that if these cartridges got me through at least one cartridge replacement (each), it would still be cheaper than purchasing a set of new Canon cartridges from the local warehouse store.

I just received the kit today for my MX-860. Everything arrived as advertised, including the one black pigment + one black dye cartridges (this seems to be a problem with other kits, where only one type of black cartridge is delivered).

The rubber stoppers in each cartridge look easy to remove. This will be handy next time around.

I proceeded to replace my 2 empty cartridges (cyan & magenta). I followed the cartridge replacement directions on the enclosed sheets. They were clear and concise.

No refills at this time, since the cartridges I'm installing were pre-filled at the factory.

So, now we get into a few notes of warning:

Based on my experience, these cartridges can leak quite a bit of ink when you remove the orange protective cartridge cover. The orange cartridge cover is on *very* tight, and may need a bit of force to remove. I'm not sure if the amount of removal force influenced the ink leakage that ensued. All I can tell you is that both of the cartridges lost enough ink to cause a potential disaster, if I wasn't opening them over our stainless steel kitchen sink. Much more than one or two drops.

Now that you've read the bullet above: Wear plastic (or latex) gloves while trying to install these cartridges!! Your skin will love you for it.

Open each cartridge over a non-absorptive area that can be easily cleaned

Bring a few paper towels for cleanup, in case an "Oops" occurs.

Now, I will say that the last 3 bullets above really apply *whenever* you replace ink cartridges. I just haven't had many problems with the Canon manufactured cartridges in the past, so maybe I was lucky. Sometimes, the OEM ink cartridges have had leak problems, sometimes not. Never hurts to be a little cautious.

After a number of ink drops escaped each cartridge, the leaking stopped. I washed off the cartridges and used paper towels to dry off the loose ink, and then made sure the ink sponge was clear.

After the initial messiness, the replacement cartridges seem to be working just fine. I can't comment on the color accuracy yet, since I haven't replaced all the color cartridges yet. I can't comment on the ARC ink chip reset, since the ink is still new (The ink level shows "full"). I also can't comment on the refill process yet, though it looks promising. I will update this review as time goes on, and I work my way through the current ink load.

I guess I'll give 4 stars for now, since these are no worse than other OEM cartridges that I have purchased in the past, and look like they will be a big money saver in the future.

Cheers!

UPDATE AFTER MY FIRST REFILL:

First off, there is one important issue: The replacement cartridges I installed NEVER indicated that the ink had run out. They always showed "Full" in the level monitor, so I never knew the levels were low until the cartridges were totally dry. So, the rating has been reduced to 3 stars. These cartridges are usable, but I will need to check the levels every now and then by myself.

Next: ** Do not follow the printed instructions to use Scotch Tape to cover the top breathing hole **. It doesn't work, and the cartridges dripped ink rather quickly. I tried using a glue gun to cover the top breathing hole, and the dripping was slower but still messy. After I filled the cartridge, I tried to get the rubber plug back in. It is really tight (a good thing, I guess), but when combined with the dripping from from the cartridge, the ink well was not full when I got done. Once the rubber plug is in, the cartridge totally stopped dripping.

I let the cartridges sit for about 15 minutes to let the sponge soak up the ink before using. The cartridges print fine, and aren't leaking anymore.

I did use gloves this time, and did it in our stainless steel sink. Be sure to plan on the cartridges leaking when you refill them. Cleanup wasn't too bad, but I would have preferred no cleanup at all.

These re-manufactured 61XL tri-color inkjet cartridges are hit and miss, mostly miss; sometimes they work well, sometimes they are defective and won't work out of the packaging, and sometimes they work and fail after just a few printings.

Cheap doesn't save money when the cartridges are not one-bit consistent, and these are definitely cheap quality. I'll go to a local printer supply store that refills cartridge and pay a bit more for better quality.

After years of supporting printers with these printheads, I generally haven't had many problems. GREAT price! FAST ship! Ink is every bit as good as HP's for a fraction of the price. A small fraction. I don't print much and HP's ink would dry out on me between prints. I've had HP cartridges dry out on me after only printing a total of maybe 10 sheets of text with minimal graphics because I could go weeks or even over a month between print jobs. So far so good with Sophia Global.

HP disappointed me with their quality and their price is utterly insulting. I shamelessly endorse Sophia Global. Just buy them. You won't regret any part of your transaction and standard shipping is FAST.

We use the Sharp UX-C70B Ink Cartridge in our Sharp UXB20 Inkjet Fax Machine. This cartridge is required if you are using the Sharp FAX machine.

The cartridge performs OK if you use it regularly, but is prone to clogging and drying out if it goes for a week or so without being used. Most of the time this problem can be resolved by removing the cartridge from the machine and gently wiping the print head area with a damp paper towel.

This is not a great cartridge, but it is the only option if you are using a Sharp Fax machine.

This aftermarket cartridge works well in my 11 year old HP Officejet G85. Price can't be beat, even if the other one doesn't work. I hesitate to remove it from it's sealed container as the medium will dry up if not used in time. I don't print a lot because I'm not a "home office". Maybe 10-15 sheets a week. Or not. It rest's sometimes a week or so between printing sessions. So I'm hoping this will last as long as the OEM I had in it. My OEM was installed in January of 2012. I'd say if this one lasts that long, I'm a happy printer. I did buy an aftermarket color cartridge (from another vendor on Amazon's site) that was haywire at purchase and so was the other that I bought with it. But it was more expensive to send them back than to keep them. The company refunded me the cost + shipping and said they didn't want them back. Can't beat that.

The remanufactured cartridges work fine. I have an old HP 845c, which is slow, but still working fine. Through experience, I have found it best to set the printer preferences to draft mode, the reman. cartidges tend to dispense too much ink when printing. I find the print quality to be best utilizing the draft mode, and of course, it saves ink as well.

I have used several types of remanufactured ink tanks over the years, and have to admit that you will sometimes receive a tank that the chip will not be recognized by the printer, or there may be a problem with the ink quality. This is the first time I have had a tank be recognized by the printer and not dispense ink. Especially three tanks!

Not sure what happened here, but all three tanks were recognized by my CANON, MX700 printer, but none of them would dispense any ink. I performed all the nozzle checks and cleaning procedures, but nothing would help.

I checked the tanks themselves and they appeared to be in good shape with ink in them.

I guess it goes without saying that I will not be purchasing from this specific seller again. All other AMAZON products I have purchased have been fine.

Lesson learned for trying to go so cheap with the ink.

Best Deals for 3 pk of non OEM Canon CLI-8 Magenta Compatible Ink Cartridge

The original Canon ink can become expensive if your doing a lot of printing. We do both high quality printing and a lot of printing that does not require high tech printer quality. We thought we would give this ink a try. These seem to work very good for the Canon Pro9000 Mark II Printer, There is an LED light in side the regular Canon Brand that these don't have or it don't work, But the fluid levels on our computer works, it shows how full each color level is, so the electronic chip in the ink cartridge works ok with the printer. The colors seem to be print great with the other colors, can not see any difference in color printing.
