One star to acknowledge the speed of shipment and the reply to my question, but the net effect is that I am without cartridge and therefore printer... so the true value is zero.

I still don't know what to do with the orange plastic which seems to be something to twist off, but regardless, there is no way I can fit this into the Pixma 4700. (The reply from the company: "Yes, it's a different shape, but it does work.")

In fact, after trying and trying, then going to a new Canon 30 (instead of the current 40), I now get a error message about the cartridge being incompatible even when I insert the original 40 cartridge!

Very frustrating.
