I was penny wise and pound foolish when I purchased Amazon's re-manufactured tri color ink cartridge. The quality of the colors are horribly distorted, essentially worthless. By the time I inserted the replacement Amazon cartridge, the date for return had passed. If you do purchase an Amazon re-manufactured cartridge, insert it immediately to see if you are satisfied. Good luck!!!!) My advice is that if you want clean, crisp, realistic colors, purchase the more expensive, but brand new cartridge.

Read the reviews on pretty much all the other replacement cartridges for a HP45 cartridge. There were lots of other brands with sucky reviews. Since I didn't want to pay the price of HP brand cartridges, I took a chance on this one (which was $13.49). Popped the cartridge in, the printer recognized it right away and it spit out a printed alignment sheet, which looked fine. I printed multiple copies of the document I needed on both plain printer paper and 3-part NCR paper with no problems whatsoever. Ink density looked fine even on draft mode. I haven't tried it on any other kind of paper yet, so I can't review that. Works fine, good price. Says its supposed to get 425 sheets, I may revisit the review if not.
