Maybe that was true 10 years ago, but I had to try for myself. Nothing could be further from the truth. Colors match previous prints. I use color profiles from Epson and Ilford, and they match too. So far, all clogs have disappeared, better than with Epson inks.
Good company, good product, all better than advertised.

Purchased this based on the review. I printed using Epson Luster photo paper on Stylus Photo R1800. Everything printed grey/green. It was horrible. I did everything to trouble shoot it and no luck. I gave up and went to Office Depot to purchase Epson ink cartridges. The images came out as expected. Complete waste of money.Best Deals for 8pk Brite ColorTM remanufactured T0540 T0541 T0542 T0543 T0544
these inks are printing blue instead of gray.Skin tones are magenta. That's with using a consistently good printer with corresponding paper profile.
Maybe I could to create custom ink profiles but I don't have the time/knowledge to do that.
terrible result

I have an Epson Stylus Photo R800 and anyone that has this series knows two things. The first is that it can create outstanding photos, as good as a photo lab. The other thing is that the lifecycle costs of the Epson ink cartridges is crazy since there are eight cartridges and you can't continue printing if one of them goes out. They cost between fifteen and twenty bucks each so you do the math. These are decent cartridges. I had a problem with one of them and the company was very good about exchanging the defective cartridge. The photo quality is certainly NOT as good as Epson. However, you only pay 25% of what Epson charges so you can't complain too much.
The other thing that is a pain is that these are not very well marked and you get a variety of different cartridges styles from different manufacturers.
So, if you want to save money buy these cartridges. If you want true photo quality you are going to have to stick with Epson.
