The refill port or hole is really easy to find once you peel off the manufacturers label. I used the black refill and it worked fine or as the packaged stated. The problem I had was the cartridge dried out and the refill ink wouldn't loosen up the dried ink. I tried filling a wet cartridge but the printer said that it didn't recognize that cartridge as valid. I think there is a chip on the cartridge or something that tells the printer that it is empty. I don't now how to reset that chip but I can probably buy one of those cheap less than a couple bucks cartridges and fill that instead.
