I didn't have any issues with spilled ink at all. I had read reviews complaining about spilled ink, so was just a little bit careful in handling the installation. You just need to keep the cartridges upside-down until the point of installation. No problem. printed a couple test pages. I printed out a page that had 300 different colors/shades and took the printout and compared it with the monitor. I looked good to me... you don't get the deep color that the monitor displayed, but the colors were pretty much right on.
The other thing I like was the cartridges are see-through and you can see the ink compartment and the layout of the cartridge. This is especially helpful when later when the printer says it's empty, I will look to see exactly how empty it is when I remove them.
CAVEAT: as I said, IDK how the law works, but these are clones. There are instructions that came with these cartridges like "do not upgrade your printer firmware/software or else it might no longer work." Well I had installed the latest firmware for my printer a few months ago, and... no probs... so I think these guys make sure they release products that are pretty up-to-date/ clones of the Lexmark cartridges. There are also instructions on how to slice the RFID of the cartridge (I think, not sure) if the cartridge doesn't happen to work and the printer shows a specific error. IDK, but THANK YOU for cheap cartridges. No wonder why Lexmark is getting out of the printer business! Sorry guys, but I appreciate cheap stuff.

These cartridges are NOT worth any apparent "savings". Every one I opened started leaking immediately all over the placeI was eventually able to avoid messes by anticipating this, but it's still a pain and shouldn't be an issue. The print quality was greatly diminishedletters appeared bold, ink lines through paper... All of these problems were fixed when I purchased a normal lexmark refill. As for the fact that they were sold as "XL"that is laughable.
