HP should have done a recall on that printer, since I'm seeing this problem all over the Internet. You put in a new black ink cartridge and the printer still thinks it's empty. Tried everything, but this finally fixed the problem. I wasn't expected much from a refurbished print head, but it works fine, and costs a lot less than a new one.

Unfortunately, this replacement head was inoperable in my home Officejet 6500. It met my low expectations for a refurbished part.

This refurbished HP 920 printhead did not work for me. There was never a problem with the black ink only the 3 colored inks. Well after installing this product, I still cannot print in color. Bought a new printer and use the HP only for black ink projects and an extra fax for upstairs.

I ordered this to try to repair our HP6500 printer. When I opened the box, I found the "refurbished" printhead wrapped loosely in a plastic bag and with wet ink all over the electronic contacts. I wiped it off and installed anyway, because we badly needed our printer to work again. The printhead did not solve the problem (I can't say for sure that the printer problem was with the printhead, but given the condition of the refurbished one, I was skeptical that it would work). I filed a complaint about the ink-covered printhead, but never heard back. Goodbye $45, hello new Epson printer.
