Great product. One thing you need to be careful about is that the "XL" labeling does not refer to the size of the product. I mistakenly thought so and was misinformed. Otherwise the specific product listed works great just I think misleading packaging and labeling.

The product image is not correct -the actual packaging I received clearly states that this will only work for a 5 cartridge (magenta, yellow, cyan, PHOTO black, regular black) printer. This PHOTO black cartridge has the "butterfly" symbol, NOT INTERCHANGEABLE with the regular black "pentagon" symbol cartridge.

Once upon a time the Black xl was actually big nearly 3 times the capacity as a standard cartridge (2.5). In fact the printer has a big space for it too... Now the new version of the xl is the same size as the standard cartridge... HP states "smaller package same amount of prints* " and "2.5 more than standard" sounds great right... I was skeptical so put it to the test...On a print order my partially used old cartridge completed 77 pages, it took 2 of the new ones to complete 55... You just cannot get a gallon of milk in a quart jug ...and HP doesn't claim too though the inference is there...note the little * in the claim and the wording where they do not claim the same amount of ink just prints... Reality is it just doesn't hold the same amount of ink and you will be changing out cartridges all the time...

Why pay department store prices when you can order the same ink cartridges from Amazon? This is the 3rd times I've ordered HP ink from Amazon and I've not been disappointed yet.

I have a nice HP printer, all in one, that includes the wonderful feature of automatic doubleside prinnting... Everything was ok, until ink ran out... Now, I have the bad feelling about this new ink cartridges with chip... I think they can not be refilled...
