Time and again I rate this brand of ink to be pretty darn good and it is, this is great for everyday use and it has never given my any trouble of any kind, no streaks no smears, no lines just good clean printing. Now understand this is for everyday items not for photographic work, for photos I use the manufactures brand names because of testing for longevity and fade resistance and all that, oh I may do a photo here and again with it but nothing of critical value, for that I stick with the brands.
For everyday use you couldn't talk me out of this, it works very well why spend money when you don't need to..., right?

Much less expensive than brand name, and ink seems fine, but not sure the chips works. The printer often goes into some type of suspended status mode, refusing to print. Turning it off won't fix it, but physically unplugging the power cord for 10 seconds does. So does installing Canon-brand cartridges. The whole thing's a hassle. The printer manufacturers HP, Brother, Canon, etc all do this, going to great lengths to try to force you into buying expensive brand name cartridges. There's a bit of electronic cat-and-mouse going on the manufacturers spend a lot of time and money on their chips (which have NOTHING do with print quality) while the generic ink makers try to counter that with chips that mimic the originals. In this case, it may not be perfect.
BTW, when the printer does actually print, the output is fine.
