I have purchased this item in the past for my printer and found while the price was resonable, the quality good, the lifespan really wasn't; The cartridges didn't last very long. I went through three of them just writing three or four papers last year. Suggestions for keeping the cartridge from drying up/running out so quickly would be a good addition.

Buyer be aware! As the box shows, this item includes both the ink tank *and* the green cartridge which holds the ink tank. I was confused by many other products stating "ink cartridge" which are actually the ink tank only. The cartridge was essential for me to revive my old BJC-55 which is now running strong again, thanks to this product.

Especially since I needed the cartridge, I did not want my printer's fate to be decided by a "compatible" third party product. Personally, I believe a Canon printer should use Canon ink and I was not disappointed.

The reason I did not give it five stars is at nearly bucks a pop, even with the cartridge, it's pricey, but not having bought any other ink, as far as I know, ink for all printers could be expensive.

If you don't use the printer on a daily basis, these cartridges dry up only days after you stop. Given that the BJC-80 is a portable printer, I only use it while traveling, which means having to buy new cartridges for every trip. A real money drain!

This is a genuine replacement print head and it came with a bonus (4) ink tanks, and costs way less than the previous one purchased locally a few years ago. Thanks Amazon!
