When I first got them, there was some problems tripping the sensor that the ink was full. It resolved by itself, so I didnt worry about it. Then, I noticed that when printing with these cartridges, a funny odor would come from my printer and my paper would smell like what I can only compare to Windex. Today, when I cleaned the cartridges and printed a print quality check, the yellow looked black! I didnt know why, so I removed the yellow and ink came gushing out of the cartridge! A literal stream until I tilted the cartridges upside down. These have been in the printer for about 3 months, so the leaking problem didn't start right away.
I've purchases much better ink from Amazon for the Brother printer. Do yourself a favor and find one of them to avoid the strange smell, compatibility problems with the "out of ink" sensor, and leaking ink.

I bought this ink, figuring that, at worst, the low cost non-OEM ink would result in inaccurate colors and low output per cartridge. What I got was ink that gummed up the print head of my MFC-5840CN, rendering it "unable to print". Shame on whoever made this crappy ink for making me buy a new printer!

I replaced the Cyan cartridge and it started to bleed inside my printer, then I replaced the black cartridge. When printing it kept cleaning the printer but still printed the pages in scribble couldn't see or read what was printed. I cleaned the printer, did a alignment and cartridge color check and it printed fine but when I printed my document the color was faded and black was gray. I guess you get what you pay for. I'll just go and purchase the original cartridges which I know will work.

This is a problem, because if you don't put the cartridge in the machine, and THEN take the tape off, INK WILL SPILL all over you and your desk, etc.! There should be some instructions directing you on how to use this company's particular kind of Ink Cartridge. That would make a world of difference. As I have only used 2 out of the pack of 12, I cannot judge the entire package. When ready to order again I might write something. So far, the two I have used print fine. Keeping fingers crossed.
