This individual yellow cartridge has proven useful. For every 3 or 4 sets of the other colours I use, I need an extra yellow for some strange reason. But that is the great thing about these individual cartridges, you replace what you use, not all of the colours at once.

This is a Brother product, not something just compatible. It goes in and out easily and is tightly wrapped in plastic to avoiding any drying out...just a great product and an added bonus of being less than at any office supply near me.

high quality genuine cartridge, that's all I can say. At this price, it's a great deal. Just want to share some tips how to save money on ink. Brother printer is pretty easy to setup and replace cartridge. I don't know if you noticed that the cartridge edge that is facing inside, there is a transparent "windows" so that you can see how much ink left in the cartridge. YOu can use duct tape to block the window. The printer will keep printing untill all ink are used up. I choose brother printer is because the genuine ink is cheaper and long term cost is lower. I didn't know you can trick printer to save ink even more.

Why is it these cartridges are said to be empty when they are about 1/4th full after pulling them out? I never had a printer that went through ink so fast as this one.

I ALWAYS BUY ORIGINAL INK CARTRIDGES. THEY ARE DESIGNED TO WORK WITH THE SPECIFIC BRAND. GENERIC ONES MIGHT CLOG THE INKJETS IN YOUR PRINTER. NOT WORTH THE RISK.

It's a problem with most inkjet printers--the cartridges never seem to last very long and they're not exactly cheap to replace. Then, if you do find them for a reasonable price, you have to hope you're not getting an old or defective product. I didn't have any problems with this cartridge while I had the printer (I've since replaced it).
