I was skeptical about ordering a re-manufactured product, but I couldn't pass up the price, about 1/3 the cost of a new unit. The original box arrived damaged and was partially opened and also a section of the shipping box looked re-taped shut. I tried the unit anyway, since it appeared to be encased in a layer of bubble wrap. The unit didn't work! No image at all on the page. I tried several toner cartridges and multiple cleanings. NADA. I sent an email to the vendor through Amazon explaining the situation. A replacement drum was sent out Priority Mail, which I received in two days. This unit worked and is still working (about 2 weeks now) flawlessly. I did not have to send the defective unit back. Vendor would have gotten 5 stars, but I took off a star for my inconvenience (even though the shipping condition was probably out of the vendors' control).

after a few years with a drum that waste toner, print bad and a lot of things, found the drum was the problem, then with this one all go back to normal, like the first time i buy my dcp-1000 printer, images now print very clear, same with a copy, and the price was really good, a local manufacturers offers me the same drum at 3-4 time the cost, I recommend it.

Works great at a fraction of the cost. I have had the mfc-4800 for 8+ years. I have changed the drum twice and replace the toner as needed. This drums works great!

Relieved 2 of these and they both had a space/line that did not print. the company that sold this drum was great to deal with and shipped a replacement, but it was faulty also. so spend what you have to to get a new one.
