We don't print much, so we didn't get to fully use this cartridge. Eventually our printer indicated a print error (not out of ink, but it just refused to work, "Check Cartridge"). We put in a new one and all is well. (The printer was also happy with an old dried-out cartridge. It didn't print, but was willing to try and otherwise worked OK. Research on the web seemed to indicate it was a problem with the electronics in the cartridge.)
This is the first time this ever happened, and the first time we purchased from Amazon. I don't know if it is overall shelf life or just random.

HP 98 works very well with our HP printer, but our Order for 2 came in as one HP 98 and another "compatible" 98 Cartridge that did not work as well. Future purchases should be as ordered not including "compatible" or "equivalent" cartridges.

I bought this as it was a good price (much cheaper than local stores) so I was very disappointed when I received it and saw that although it was in a regular Hewlett Packard package it was either old or inferior as the quality of ink was very poor from the start and dried up very quickly. Will not buy ink from you again and would have asked for my money back but needed the ink that day for what printing I could get out of it. Don't buy ink, even HP, from Amazon (unless this was just a fluke).
