I'm using an HP OfficeJet 8000 as a second printer, and NEVER, not even ONCE printed a color page. So I was surprised and dumfounded when the yellow cartridge light started blinking, and the printer refused to print at all. What's that about? Anyway, I invested a few bucks in the yellow ink cartridge, the printer now prints fine (in black, I STILL haven't printed anything in color), and I am again a happy chappy marveling at the clever dollar extraction technology HP engineers into its printers!!

Cartridge is 10 months expired and my Officejet 8500 will not use expired cartridges. Fortunately I looked at the expiration date before I opened the package so returning it for full credit is possible.

Like many HP inject printers, you have to buy these at inflated prizes. My printer is a office jet pro and has black and color cartridges. When you want to print just black, they designed it so it takes a combination of all cartridges to print black. So if I have run out of one of the 3 color cartridges, you can not print in black even if the document does not need color. This is a real scheme by HP. Also, the brain chip on these cartridges makes it almost impossible to buy non HP ones as the printer knows it is a cheaper alternate and good luck to try to get it to work. I rated 1 star to this company, who I hope goes out of business soon as they are in trouble. Maybe because people see through their schemes like this.

I put this ink cartridge in my HP printer... printed one black and white paper with text and now the yellow is down like 1/4 down! It is way too expensive for my printer to be drinking it so fast! not sure if it is the printer or the cartridge.
