Pay careful attention to the amount of ink you are getting. These ink containers are sold at two prices, with the XL model containing approximately twice as much ink but generally costing more, as you'd expect. It can be a better deal as long as the XL size is less than twice the price of the regular. In that case most people would be better off with the large size, unless the printer is used very rarely (in which case it might be better to buy fresh ink in small amounts only when needed.)

The product description for ink includes an estimate of the number of pages for each ink cartridge, so look for that.

Right now Amazon has this particular ink at around the same price that another vendor is selling the XL size. Of course, Amazon's free shipping option may make up some of the difference; you'll have to do the math. Just be aware of which size you are looking at when comparing prices.

This cartridge was stated as being for my HP All-In-One, but even though the cartridge is the same size, it doesn't fit. I purchased it earlier than I needed to because I wanted it on hand. However, when I tried to install this one, plus the other 4 (all 564's), I found they were the wrong ones. The black cartridge should be twice as wide as the one I received. None will fit. Now Amazon says my return window (what ever that is) expired 5 days ago. How nice for them. I have to return them all on my own. And I still don't have ink for my printer.

Got the ink cartridge and it's old and out of date. I won't be buying from this guy again. I might have considered it if I was told up front. Did not come as shown.

Honest reviews on HP 564 Magenta Ink Cartridge in Retail Packaging

The box has a printed expiration date and location of manufacture, this one I'm writing about came from "MALAYSIA"... where they must be paying the workers there really well in order to make very little profit from a technologically advanced piece-of-plastic-with-ink-and-a-chip... NOT!

At $11 per cartridge and how little ink is in there, the ink must have been made from unicorns and gold. I ran out of cyan ink printing just 10 photos, though the photos did contain a lot of blue, but still, that was very little ink.

While on the topic of recycling, the thick cardboard box packaging and all the advertising inserts that go in there must have consumed a lot of paper to produce. So much packaging, so little ink, so much cost.

Installing is not as easy either, you have to be careful breaking off the orange ink cap/tab when installing, it needs a lot of force and I often cut myself doing that. The pictorial-only instructions (printed on the ink plastic cover wrap) for removing that are misleading, you need pull it away from the cartridge, not twist it.

Ink level is misleading, on the display (both on HPLIP and the printer's ink levels) it shows that you have 25% left when in reality you have 1% left.

When I put in my HP printer I get the message that this ink is or older style printer and STILL cannot print.
