I purchased this to use in my Canon MG5400. At first it printed perfectly then after a few print jobs the printer gave me an error (#1412), an ink tank cannot be recognized. I'm really bummed as I haven't figured out a way to get around this error yet.

I hate buying the brand ink for these throw away printers so this is a really good alternative. Much more affordable if you print a lot of stuff. I see no difference in the quality of printing either. Canon is definitely a throw away printer (not worth fixing) but it does it's job well enough. The last combo printer, copier, fax, scanner I bought was a Canon and it died an untimely death so I lost all the functions instead of just the printing function and I was stuck with the ink. Fortunately, it was this generic ink. Just an aside when you go to buy a printer. Another aside for these cartridges, if your printer doesn't recognize the new generic cartridge, lick (or moisten slightly) the contacts then try again. It works every time.
