I was skeptical but if it worked I could buy two Sophia cartridges for the price of one Lexmark and I'm both happy and surprised to say it works and that my S405 Lexmark recognizes the Sophia cartridges and they contain much more ink than Lexmark cartridges because its lasting a lot longer than Lexmark cartridges I've previously purchased, and the cartridge is still almost full (so says the Lexmark printer messages). I would be on my second Lexmark cartridge by now and I'm still on my first Sophia cartridge. This cartridge is highly recommended for S405 Lexmark and similar printers.

I was really taking a chance in purchasing this remanufactured cartridge as previous experience was not successful. My printer seems to be tempermental in accepting cartridges. But this one appears to be working okay although I can't print in draft mode...can barely read documents.

The price for this cartridge compared to the one from hp is unbelievible! Once I installed into my printer I printed well over 100 pages no smudges or anything. The ink level sensor even reads, which is amazing because half the time the original HP brands dont read. I have only one complaint about this product and that is that when i pulled it out of the package and removed the tape covering the ink port it poured black ink all over a stack of brand new printer paper, all over my desk and the floor. Half the ream of printer paper was rendered useless but with a little windex and a few paper towels the rest was cleaned up. it just sucks that it gushed out of the cartridge even though the outlet was facing up. I guess they filled it to the max.
