Yes it is just ink. Performs well as it is a genuine HP product, but all these ink cartridges are WAY OVERPRICED. They should give you a free printer for what they charge for the ink. As consumers we have been tolerating this hosing for decades. Why do we allow it to continue?

Cartridges seem to work OK and appear to be genuine HP, however the packaging was questionable. The HP box was quite wrinkled and the cartridges inside were not enclosed in anything. Usually they come in some sort of sealed plastic pouch when purchased from a big box store. Also there was no peel-off seal on the cartridges. So I'm wondering if some of the ink may be evaporated from being exposed to air. Looks like maybe these were cartridges that were returned by someone and leads me to wonder about this vendor's practices. So far they are working OK but I am concerned whether I will get full life from them.
