I go far to long in replacing my ink cartridges because of the high cost!

Wish someone would explain to me why a little ink in a plastic container cost so much!!

It's your standard ink. I'm giving it four stars only because it feels like a few print jobs after putting in the new cartridge I'm being told again that the ink is low. I'm still printing fine though.
