I have just used the black ink cartridge so far but it snapped right in and worked excellent from the very first print job. There are no instructions with the shipment but the cartridge goes in just like the original. One thing that is confusing is a bit of clear plastic glued over the ink nozzle. My impulse was to remove it but after reading reviews of cartridges that had leaked I left it intact and inserted the cartridge into the printer. Apparantly that little piece of clear plastic is what holds the ink in. When it is inserted into the printer something inside the printer punctures it and it seals around the ink nozzle, allowing ink to flow without leaking. This is a great way to buy ink, certainly a lot cheaper than buying new or refills from a store front.

Was alittle scared at first to purchase this, but what the heck...I'll give it a go... I'm glad I did. It works great. Keep the tape/plastic on the ink end, it will get punctured when putting it in the machine. I will purchase this again. and again. LOL

I've only inserted one cartridge so far. I see no problem so far. I wasn't sure about the installation procedure. I found no instructions. There is no primer lever like on the factory cartridges, and there is a seal on the supply port that I wasn't sure about, but it was accepted by the printer ok. I'm basing this rating on the price and the fact that it works. I'll post if anything changes.

I have been refilling ink cartridges for over 15 years. I refilled some of the most difficult kind of cartridges, namely the HP and the Canon brand cartridges with the microchips, the printhead and the internal sponges that contained the ink. The HP and Canon brand cartridges were outrageously expensive, they ran out of ink quickly and refilling was difficult. I determined that it cost about $2-4 for each refill once you included the price of the new cartridge, the potential number of refills you could get per cartridge, until failure, and the cost of the refilling supplies. Refilling the HP and Canon brand cartridges were messy, extremely frustrating and time consuming. I am completely happy with these Brother compatible ink cartridges. If you buy several of them at once, like the 12 pack, you only pay about $2-3 per cartridge. You should keep some extra cartridges of each color on-hand anyway. The great thing is that I don't have to refill cartridges anymore. I have installed two black cartridges and a yellow and so far everything has worked perfectly. I find the print quality to be good. Not as good as the original manufacturer inks, and not as good as the HP and Canon printers I used in the past. But for the savings and convenience I am willing to live with a little bit lesser print quality. The cartridges are packaged and shipped well. The black ink will run out much faster than the color cartridges. I will probably be making an order from this vendor for a number black ink cartridges. I am excited about these cartridges, I hope the vendor stays in business for a long time and I am happy with the printer that utilizes these cartridges. The printer I have is a Brother MFCJ835DW.
