yep. there is no escaping it, the hardware often looks cheap and then you are hit with the ink costs. In this case, we were totally surprised on how cheap this cost and how long it lasted compared with our old HP printer. We love our Lexmark printer, so if you are seeking a new printer/scanner/ etc then make sure you factor in the cost of the ink. With Amazon, it always makes sense to check out the prices too. Very easy to install and there is a return envelope for used ink cartridges: very green. There are also ink kits to add ink to your cartridge, which Amazon sells and we will try this as another way to be green to the environment and will update this review.

I wanted to stock up on some ink because I have two lexmark printers that actually use this ink. Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901 All-in-One Printer and the Lexmark Platinum Pro905 Business Class Wireless Multifunction Inkjet Printer with Web-Enabled Touchscreen... Luckily both of the printers use the same ink, and I didn't find a better then Amazon. I looked on google, best buy, lexmark, buy, newegg, well you can pretty much name them and no one had the better pricing.

It just seems like the manufacturer's product (OEM) always works better than the after-market items I purchase for printers. This ink is no different. It provides sharp, crisp copies and photos. The black ink is dirt-cheap, but alas they do make up for it with the price of colored ink -what's new?

Two out of the three cartridges didn't work. The packaging is not what is shown in the product photo. The head protectors are not the head protectors that Lexmark currently uses. But, I was able to confirm with Lexmark that they are of Lexmark manufacture. I just don't really know what this is about. The one cartridge works fine. I did not get satisfactory answers from OCProducts customer service.

I asked if these were refilled cartridges and they just answered with "this is the the way the product comes because of the low price". Also, the cartridges did not have the "return program" envelopes.

They are sending replacements for the two defective cartridges and I will update once they arrive.

Would not recommend.

I was running out of ink for my printer and purchased this item expecting to get exactly what was shown in the photo. Imagine my anger when what came was a hodge-podge of cartridges in various condition. The Cyan cartridge had blue smudges all over it as if it had been refilled with ink instead of "new" as the description stated. The yellow cartridge was in an opened box. Only the magenta cartridge was in an unopened box. I called the company and they sent me a return label...did not offer to send the item pictured. We'll see if they refund my money or not.
