Item has hard plastic cover over cartidge that had to be snapped off (The orange "holder" shown in item description). However, the cover does not seal ink inside the cartridge and instead allows ink to pool inside cover. When this cover is removed (which cannot be done gently) ink goes everywhere. I'll be looking like a leopard for at least a week. Make sure you remove the cover over the sink or on a surface that is easily wiped off. Also, the cartridge does not snap to fit like the actual Lexmark cartridge does. However, it does work in the printer and other than looking like I have spots, I'm fairly pleased.
*update* Less than 1 week and roughly 30 pages (if that), black is no longer printing. I can take the cartridge out, shake it and hear liquid inside however, papers are blank. Put old cartridge in and it would print (albeit not very well since the ink was close to being gone) so its a problem with the cartridge and not the printer. Ended up having to spend the money and actually buy a Lexmark cartridge that I know is reliable as I need printing capabilities. Would not buy this item again.

Cartridge leaked when I opened it and had a tough time clicking it into place. For the price its ok.
