This 14-piece set is said to include 8 black cartridges, and two sets of color (C, M, and Y). But I received 5 black and 3 sets of color (which I prefer!). They were packaged really nice too. Vacuum sealed and retail ready. I was a little surprised.
Installed the black and color per instructions and gave it a test run. Color prints had big gaps and multi color horizontal bars through everything. Totally unreadable. Nozzle tests were coming up weird. On top of that there were globs of black and blue ink staining every page (and my face, by accident). Ended up going through almost all four of those cartidges in less than an hour, attempting to print something remotely legible. Spent the remaining ink on multiple back-to-back cleanings. Considered it a total loss, on what I knew was a gamble. But decided to reload, since I had so many cartridges, and try one more test print.
Presto! Everything is legible. Color is only okay if you set the print to best quality, and even then you still get some faint bands, but at least they're all in the same color family. Prints great if set to black ink only. May work out just fine for printing shipping labels, which is really all I need it for.
We'll see if it's cost effective and continues to perform okay. You get what you pay for with this printer and this ink. You're taking a risk, not because the product is unreliable, but because Epson intentionally made it so non-Epson ink is virtually impossible to use and extremely unreliable in their machines. Although it's working out on my printer, I wouldn't guarantee that it would work on someone else's, even the exact same model.
But if yr in the same predicament as I, this is worth trying out. It'll coast me through until I replace the printer, which I now know is necessary. I'd recommend getting the 14 pack, in case it takes a couple tries to get the stuff acclimated. I bought from Gener Ink. Shipping was lightning fast. I ordered Weds and received on Friday (regular shipping!)!

I have an Epson NX100 printer that I use for school printing. When I installed the first black cartridge my printer would not recognize it. I contacted Gener Ink customer support and they told me some Epson printers don't like mixed brand ink. I swapped all the other colors out (they were almost empty) and everything works great. I received the product and was surprised at how well each ink cartridge was packaged. I loaded the first set into my Epson NX415 and the printer recognized the cartridges nice. I did a test print and everything looked great. Next I printed a photograph on photo paper (I am a photographer) and it looked great! Next I tried printing some documents from MS Word 2010 and had mixed results. All black text was fine, sometimes there was a little ink blotch at the bottom of the page, but never in the reading area. Whenever I had a picture in the document, I got lines through the images only kind of odd. I again printed photographs from other software and no lines...for some reason this only happens with MS Word. For my uses, this isn't really a big deal and I gave the product 4 stars because of the price you get over 3x the ink compared to 1 set of Epson ink. The other positive about this ink, it seems to last longer then the oem ink from Epson Awesome! Great price, works well and now i am not afraid to use my color printer, because cost is actually very low.Epson ink cost more than the printer. What a scam! With the generic ink, you're bypassing the ripoff.
I used it with photo paper, and the results where great! I have an epson nx200! Great printer, works well with this generic ink.
