In about 5 minutes time, I figured out how to do it and had filled 3 of my old ink cartridges. I couldn't believe how easy it was, and could have kicked myself for not buying one of these kits a long time ago.

How hard is it to inject a syringe full of ink into a tiny hole that is already in the ink cartridge? No, my particular model cartridge wasn't in the instructions, (HP 92/93) but it wasn't hard to figure out. If you run your fingernail over the cartridge label, you will see the outline of a tiny hole that is underneath. (Or just peel back the label and you'll see it.) Stick the syringe filled with ink into the hole, and slowly fill. When ink appears in the top, pull a small amount back into the syringe to keep from having a mess. Tape up the hole and your done!

I thought, this is too easy...surely it won't work in my printer or the ink will look bad or cheap or something. Let me tell you, it worked fine and the copies look great...which made me even more aggravated that I've been wasting so much money on store-bought cartridges for so long.

New, my HP cartridges cost $15 each for black, and $24 for color. I only used about 1/2 bottle of black ink on 3 of them...so I figure the 3 bottles in this kit will fill about 18 black ink cartridges which would cost me $270 to buy new. I imagine the three bottles of color ink would also fill about 18 color cartridges, which would cost me $432 to buy new. That's a total of $702, and I spent about $20 on this kit including shipping.

As an update to my original review, after using it for 11 months now, I have had some cartridges that wouldn't work after refilling them over and over again. I'm guessing they need to be cleaned, but haven't tried to yet...I'm not sure how or if it's possible.

One thing that helped me with a refilled cartridge that wouldn't work right away, was to find a printer test page (such as but there are better ones if you search) and prime the cartridge by printing test pages to get the ink to flow. But most of the time they work right away.

This refill ink is of very good quality. The main problem is the lack of instructions. It is one sheet of paper with most of the cartridges on it with tiny writing discribing how to fill each one. The product comes with filler syringe and many other tools used to fill the different cartridger, but no instructions on how to use the included tools. I had no trouble refilling my HP color and black cartridge, but I have refilled cartridges many times before and really did not need the instructions. I like the inclusion of the primer bulbe it is just about required for filling the color cartridge and a dried out black cartridge, but there are no instructions on how to use it. My final recomendation is this refil kit has enough ink included for the avarge user to refill a lifetime of printer use. I would recommend it for a person who has refilled an ink cartridge before, and knows how to use all the tools provided in the kit.

This ink seems like a good price, and it comes with everything you need to refill ink cartridges. My only advice is that you go to Youtube for complete instructions on how to refill ink for your particular cartridge.

The syringe is marked as being for one time use only, but I found that if you are careful to clean it thoroughly with acetone, and let it dry completely before you switch colors it can be used multiple times.

Honest reviews on 600 ml HP Printer 920 XL 564 XL Cartridge Ink Refill Kit Color

I currently use HP 920 and 920XL ink cartridges for my HP 6500 printer. This is the first needle syringe refill kit I've ever used. I have the color Inktec cradle kit and, while that method is neater for refilling cartridges, it's less flexible (won't work for my wider black ink tank nor with other model HP ink cartridges since I have more than one printer).

The instruction sheet that came with this kit did not include the HP 920 models. However, I went to their website and found there are two ways to refill the ink. Initially, I made a mess trying to inject the ink into the tiny hole at top of the ink tank, causing bubbles to form and terrible leaking from the top and over the sides.

I found that it was easier/less messy to slowly drip the ink onto the sponge through the round opening at the bottom of the cartridge. For empty 920s (the slim, non-XL size), I found 3 ml is a good amount without overfilling and causing spills (overfilling causes the ink to ooze out of the top vent of the cartridge). The black 920XL tank I was refilling could hold more, about 10 ml. When the sponge stops quickly soaking up the ink, it's getting over-saturated.

Other tips: wear gloves, spread a plastic sheet or stack a couple of paper grocery bags on the table and have paper towels or tissues ready before starting.

After refilling, blot the excess ink out of the cartridges by dabbing the sponge opening onto some tissues. After inserting the cartridges back into the printer, run the print head cleaning cycle TWICE for good printing results. The printer will show that the cartridges are empty but you can still print as long as there's ink in those cartridges. Don't let the ink tanks stay empty too long. The sponge inside will dry up/harden and the tank will not longer be refillable.

The syringes are washable and re-usable; just draw and squirt clear water through them about 2-3 times. For $20 (includes the shipping charge), I get more ink than any other refill kits I've purchased in the past. The ink seems to be of better quality, as well.

I ordered via KT21568 and they immediately shipped me two syringes to replace the broken one that was in the original set (4 syringes to a kit). Very responsive vendor, an ecological solution, and a fantastic deal!

I used up most of the original ink in my HP B210a printer that uses 564 cartridges. The cartridges are labeled "564 setup" but surprisingly printed quite a bit before warning me that they were low.

I purchased this kit after reading many positive reviews, which arrived in a timely fashion even with standard shipping.

I read the included paper instructions which was quite clear and proceeded to fill the cartridges. Another reviewer mentioned the same easy way I filled them no needle on the syringe. I just poked a hold in the top middle as the instructions showed, drew in 4ml of ink and slowly (not really that slow) squirted ink into the hole. I filled all of them this way without using the needles. A little bit was on top which just wiped up.

I reinstalled them into he printer and ran the "quality test" from the front panel.

I then printed a hi-res photo which looked great and just as good as the original ink.

The nag messages appear on the printer panel when you print since the chip is the same and already hit a counter limit but it does not matter.

It looks like this one kit will refill them about 25 times so you can not beat it for the money.
