I purchased a Kodak ESP2150 printer because the last two HP printers I had ran out of ink much too rapidly and it was just as cheap to purchase a new printer as it was to purchase HP ink. I'm now on my second black ink cartridge on the Kodak. The first was the normal 30 black cartridge that comes with the printer and it outlasted the last HP printer black cartidge I had about 1 1/2:1. The 30XL black cartridge I purchased has done much more printing than that and is still about 1/4 full. The 30XL color cartridge that I installed is still about 3/4 full. I do a lot of printing and copying and I'm thoughly satisfied both with the Kodak printer and the 30XL cartridges. The only reason I gave it four stars was because of the news that Kodak may be declaring chapter 11 bankruptcy and I don't know the effect this will have on the supply of these cartridges.

I bought this after repeated changes of canon ink (10 pages to a cartridge???) The Kodak ink (obviously in a Kodak printer, not Canon) lasted 2 months and NUMEROUS pages. I was surprised last month at how long it has lasted and I just got a message today that the ink needs to be replaced. Hah! Take THAT Canon! (Don't get me wrong, I love Canon cameras) You need to get the XL cartridge to appreciate the length, I think the smaller ones might not live up to expectations (although the color cartridge, which was small, lasted for an awful lot of printouts too.) I print and/or copy almost everyday. I'm telling you that my experience says this is a good buy. The ink is cheaper and lasts longer. If you're frustrated as I was with expensive ink/toner, this is a good way to go. I'm a stay at home, I don't work for Kodak, I'm just .... less frustrated ;)

I purchased this for my Kodak ESP 2150 Office printer. It seems to be lasting quite a while which is why I purchased the XL size.

Honest reviews on Kodak 1550532 30B/XL Ink Cartridge - Black

Yes, each cartridge is cheaper. So far each last a shorter and shorter amount of time. I just replaced both and after 5 copies the printer says they are empty. Prints are streaked or faded looking or you have to clean the print head multiple times to get anything to work. My printer is only 5 months old. Kodak printers and their cheap ink are a complete rip off.

The Kodak ESP 3.2 printer works as well as any printer I have ever owned. Their selling point is how much cheaper the ink cartridges are and how much money you will save buying ink as compared to other brands. In my experience the standard cartridges run out in just under one month, and the XL cartridges are good for almost three months. Unfortunately, buying a pair of XL cartridges will cost you just as much money as buying standard cartridges for most any other printer, around $50. My last Lexmark printer had a utility that allowed you to control the amount of ink the printer was using and I really did save money. It does what a printer should do, however, and the wireless is nice. Just don't expect to save a lot of money buying ink.
