It was NOT in an EPSON carton or package. Nor was it in a sealed plastic wrap around the item.
I have no idea as to the use-by date or if it was refilled or what.
Because of that, I returned it. I suspect it was removed from the EPSON carton to hide the fact it was past the stated EPSON "use by" date printed on every carton.

The cartridge works well in my printer colors nice and bright. Arrived quickly and was as described. I was happy to find it as no store in my area carried this cartridge (not surprising considering the age of my printer).
