Although these media science cubes worked fine for awhile in our 8560 MFP, eventually they ruined the printer head and melted all over the tray sensor, both of which had to be replaced. Also it is good to know that Xerox may void your warranty if they realize you are using off brand ink cubes. In the short run, they saved money, but in the long run, they were definitely not worth the "savings"!

I love solid inks they give better results, are less messy, give you more for your money... but the initial cost is not insignificant. I've tried really cheap solid ink brands and they made all my yellows sort of muddy orange-beige. Good luck trying to prise the offending block out of your Phaser once you've put it in! These ones from media sciences are very good in terms of colour, and have all the other benefits as well.

I marked one star off because they are noticeably smaller than the genuine Xerox ones once you seem them in person I suspect so they will fit in the loading ports of many different Phaser models and reduce model-specific inventory for the manufacturer that means they're not quite bargain they first appear, but they're still very good value for money.

The only time I have had a problem with this ink is when I put it in incorrectly (which only happened with yellow). The number has to go down when it does, the printer recognizes it every time. (Note it's a major pain getting the ink back out once you've put it in wrong!)

That would be the only downside to this ink. The Xerox ink can only go in one way, so it would be very unlikely to get it in wrong.

I do agree that the color isn't quite as vibrant as one probably gets with Xerox, but for my needs it works fine (presentations, proposals, return address labels, etc).

This solid ink cube is not the same shape as the genuine Xerox 8560 solid ink cube and the Xerox 8560 will not recognize that it is installed and will continue to display an "out of ink" error message. Adding a 2nd one doesn't change the outcome. They might be for a different Xerox printer but they will not work in the Xerox 8560.
