These ink jet cartridges I use for canon pixma 100 pro printer. Love this printer, no complaints about quality of prints. When I'm printing 13x19 prints, I can get probably no more than 7 prints, depending on color, when a cartridge runs dry. You have to either buy all 8 cartridges for 124.00 bucks or buy 1 cartridge for 16.00 bucks... that can be pretty expensive. Otherwise I would recommend this, but beware of cartridges running out quickly printing large format photos.

I've taken issue with Canon ink cartridges for the fact that over time the capacities have shrunk dramatically. For example, older tanks like the Canon CLI-8 were 13ml capacity, the later gen Canon CLI-221 shrunk to 9ml, and the most recent Canon CLI-251 shrunk even further to 7ml. Note that this isn't just a Canon issue; the incredible shrinking ink cartridge has affected HP and Epson as well, perhaps even more so than Canon.

So I appreciate the fact that Canon kept the capacity of these new CLI-42 tanks at 13ml. This makes them a reasonable value even if these cartridges cost somewhat more than the newer tanks mentioned above, the cost per ml is much less. And by using OEM ink, you'll get the best results and least headaches printing on Canon printers like the Canon PIXMA Pro-100 Color Professional Inkjet Photo Printer.

Another plus for the CLI-42 is that these tank are clear, allowing you to eyeball the remaining ink levels. Most other current Canon ink tanks are opaque; with these you must rely on the printer to tell you when to replace the ink, and occasionally printers get it wrong and tell you a tank is empty when it isn't.

My only suggestion is that if you need a complete set of tanks the Canon CLI-42 Color 8 Ink Value Pack is generally a better value.

Great OEM ink, but massively overpriced. Canon seems to be following the HP strategy of virtually giving away printers to sell their high quality inks. The only good point is that it does last awhile.

I only use Canon ink for my Canon Pixma Pro 100 printer. I works without a worry and I would be a fool to try a third party ink with this great printer.

Love this printer, and despite the higher price tag on the ink it's worth it. Can't say enough about how impressed I am!
