I have purchased 2 of these just to see if they lasted the same amount and sadly they did. I don't print a lot which is why I didn't buy the XL cartridge but it seems like these cartridges only have enough ink to print about 50 75 pages in them. The settings on my printer aren't even set high, it's low resolution and greyscale. I primarily use it to print out shipping labels and papers for school. But for the price I guess it's not too bad. HP does offer some of the cheapest name brand cartridges, I just wish they would put more ink in them.

The HP 61 black ink cartridge has been extremely useful for me; it works very well with my HP Deskjet 3050 printer. The cartridge slips easily into and out of place and the ink never runs or takes any time to dry.

If you can catch a sale on these, stock up--they're worth it! The only thing you need to remember is to remove the pink strip of tape covering the actual cartridge before installing it.

I recommend this product.

I am using this HP 61 black ink cartridge in an HP Deskjet 3054A, just like my printer's directions say to do. You can always double check to make sure this cartridge will work in your printer by using Amazon's helpful tool near the top of the product page.

I've purchased and used this cartridge several times without any problems. The cartridge's lifespan is average--it doesn't run out too quickly but I have had to replace it every couple months after moderate printing (maybe 10-15 pages per week).

The price of this ink is fairly low relative to that of many black inks on the market, so if it works in your printer you stand to save a bit of money. Keep in mind that there are also large-capacity and twin-pack versions of this ink available, HP 61XL Black Ink Cartridge in Retail Packaging (CH563WN#140) and HP No. 61 Ink Cartridge, Twin Pack, Black, respectively. They may be better deals depending on their prices. I have found that you actually get the cheapest per-cartridge price for this ink by buying the twin pack, but from Staples rather than Amazon. Plus, Staples usually offers free one-day shipping on ink.

Did you ever wonder how HP can fit twice as much ink into the "High Yield" HP 61XL plastic cartridge which is identical to HP 61 and uses the same ink? Buying the 61 is like buying a six-pack of beers with three empty cans. How about a little truth in advertising? Amazon could do us a solid by putting a product content fluid volume box on their sellers ink product info descriptions.
