Review of 7 Pack Ink Cartridges for Stylus Photo R260, R280, R380, RX580

The item title indicates that these ink cartridges should work in the Epson Stylus Photo R280 printer which is the printer I have. However these didn't work in my printer. The cartridges fit, but when I tried to print a page of black text the printer said "A non-genuine or refilled cartridge has been detected. Ink levels are not shown because of unknown ink volume" and the page came out blank. I do not recommend this product for the Epson Stylus Photo R280.

These simply do not work in the Epson Photo Stylus RX 580. If that is your printer, do not buy. I advised the seller, but they continue to list it as compatible.

I decided to take the plunge on cheaper ink. I researched the listings on amazon and this one seemed to have the best reviews for the price. Unfortunately, I didn't get good quality at all. The colors and skin tones were all off. After cleaning the heads, etc., I compared the first few photos with this ink to the last photo I printed with old Epson ink (same image) and it wasn't good. In fairness, I do have issues with what I see on the monitor versus what gets printed out regardless of ink product. However, I found that there was NO forgiveness with this ink. With genuine Epson ink (which I just tried after tossing these cartridges), the differences were much more muted. The company did respond to my email and seemed to provide good customer service, but in the end, I think they realize people aren't going to bother returning something that is less than $20, especially by mail, so I just donated them to my son's school for recycling. Lastly, I didn't like that because these are "knock-off's," the print manager can't monitor the ink levels. So in the end, I am back to budgeting for the $65+ Epson ink sets....

Just received these in the mail the other day. I bought these specifically from 'Gener Ink' off of Amazon for my Epson Artisan 50. I'm happy to say that these inks work perfectly with my printer. My printer recognizes them! Let's see how these last. For the price, these are great. I will update this review if anything happens along the way.

I have an Epson artisan 50 printer. I am told this printer is rather finicky when it comes to third-party inks. I had no trouble with the printer recognizing the cartridges, and no clogging issues as of yet either. These are an incredible value compared to Epson inks. I don't know that I would trust them for long-lasting photographs, but for everyday printing I think they are great. Again, so far so good. I'll update later if there's any issues.
