I know that refurbished can be a gamble... in this case the gamble was worth it.
The cartridge was in decent condition and it is printing well after maybe the first 10 jobs or so.
Considering the potential cost savings.... I think it's worth the gamble on a refurb.
I'm in the process of ordering a black cartridge now so we'll see if the dice roll favorably again.

My printer, which is a wireless 4500, keeps malfunctioning due to the cartridge. Frequently tells me that the cartridge is not compatible. It takes several restarts to get it to print. I purchased two of them so I tried both and both cause the same errors. Sometimes it won't align, then it will say the cartridge is not compatible. My husband is in basic training at the moment and the only reason I force it to work every time is so I can add pictures to the letters, otherwise I would print to my laser and send the cartridges back and wait for new ones.
