I purchased this generic ink for my new dell V715w color laser jet all in one printer for $18.45 for 2 cartridges. Staples had the Dell brand for $16.45 + tax (series 21) for one cartridge. I figured for a dollar+ I could get 2 cartridges, so I placed my order. They arrived 4 days later, I opened and installed the 1st cartridge, followed the printer setup steps and the test print printed washed out black. After several reinstall/ reprint with the same results I called the company and a guy answered the phone. I explained the problem and he told me to open the 2nd cartridge and try that, I installed it and it printed out extra black. This is great so I thought, a few days went by and I needed to print a color document and all I got was black, Black printed where the color should be. I immediately called Dell with this problem being that this printer was only 40 day old. I had to purchase a new color cartridge because I was told the one I had was dried up $21.45 (mine was half full). We spent 2+ hours uninstalling / reinstalling and updating drivers finally they say that I had a bad printer head and they would send me a new one. I received the replacement head. I removed the generic black cartridge and original color cartridge and the printer head, IT IS AT THIS POINT I realized what the problem was; The bottom of the printer head was soaked in black ink, this generic cartridge was not regulating the amount of black in that was needed and it drowned out the color ink. To prove if this was the case I went to Staples and purchased the Dell black ink brand for $16.45 + tax, I cleaned the original printer head with a lint free cloth and a bit of alcohol, reinstalled the printer head with the Dell original cartridges and problem solved It printed black and color with no problems but just to be sure I removed the dell cartridges and the printer head to see if the black was dripping or if the head was defective but it was completely dry. I called the company I purchased the generic ink from in Amazon (LD). I requested a refund and they told me to ship back the 2 cartridges. This is the total cost for trying to save $8.22.

Generic ink Cost $18.45 ---lost ½ color ink $10.25(presumed bad) $4.95 return shipping, $15.90 refund. TOTAL LOST $12.80 and 3 days of running around!!!

Do yourself a favor and buy the Dell brand.

UNLESS YOU ARE PLANNING TO PRINT IN BLACK ONLY.

I bought a few of these because I felt they HAD to be compatible with my printer because it says it is. However, you need to use some tricks for your printer to recognize the cartridge and then it only works a few times (and not well). DO NOT BUY!!!

I would like to think it was just a fluke I've had this cartridge less than 2 months, and it is now out of ink. Product description says you get 180 pages I may have printed 30 pages since I got it.
