Genuine sticks are the only way to go if you don;t want to kill your Phaser. I have tried the 'compatible' route. Colors are never as vibrant as the originals... and after screwing up the head and spending almost $400 on a service call and parts... I swore to never again be a cheapskate on ink.
Xerox makes an amazing product and has phenomenal support. Yeah, the ink is expensive... but trust me. It's not worth taking a chance on compatible ink.
