I have not had a chance to refill these cartridges, but the initial ink filled in them has been printing great. I typically print on medium quality white inkjet paper with satisfying results. I have also printed some pictures on photo paper (major brand paper in yellow box) and they look excellent. I put this ink in as the second set of cartridges, so comparing to the original ink that came with the printer I see no difference. Save yourself money and buy this ink!

I previously owned the Epson R200 and used a CIS ink system with it. This product is better since you don't have the external tanks and ink lines hanging out of the printer keeping the lid partially open. I'm using the ink in an Epson Artisan 835 and would most definitely buy the product again. I just hope that the auto-reset chips work as advertised and this product will be the purchase you must make for this type of printer.

If later I learn that the ARC is problematic, then I will change my rating. For now this product is a must buy and a 5 rating.

So i originally decided to buy this because $102 to replace ink each time with genuine cartridges was way to much for me, and this was a cheaper alternative. I didn't have room for a full sized CISS, so i decided to buy these. The ink is wonderful, and printing black and white pictures, the epson ink had a blue tint, and these seem to be more of a true black! That was amazing to me! However, after you refill them the first time, you may start getting popups on your printer saying it can't recognize the cartridge. To fix it, take a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol to the contacts in the printer cartridge bay, and the contacts on the cartridge itself, only way i could fix it. Also, you may get a warning telling you that you are not using genuine epson ink blah blah blah and have to agree to it. Its not a big deal. I bought an Epson Artisan 730 on sale for $99 so it was actually cheaper than it costs to replace ink anyways! Who woulda thunk!

So anyhow they work wonderfully with the Artisan 730 with a few minor problems that are easily solvable!

The cartridges came already filled with ink, so I haven't had the opportunity to refill them with the supplied ink. There should be enough ink to fill the cartridges three or four more times. I just unpacked them, replaced the originals, completed the head cleaning step, and then printed Christmas letters (pictures & text) without a hitch. The ink has worked perfectly and the pictures are as vibrant as with the original Epson cartridges.

I've installed this in an Epson Artisan 837 with no problems at all. You will find the reference video I used on YouTube with no problem. Ten minutes with a razor or Exacto knife, and a little touch-up with a Dremel and you'll be in good shape. From two boxes to working printer in roughly an hour.

So far I've found the print cartridges to be completely compatible without a single glitch. Ink colors are a good match, and work well with the same papers that are compatible with Epson inks. I do have one particular shot where a green graduation gown is not as vibrant as I'd like and I'm still troubleshooting that one. Everything else I've printed has been very good. You can't beat this for the price.

Someone made a comment that it's a mess to install. I did get a few drops but nothing I'd call a mess. I learned long ago that when you're dealing with ink you need to always wear gloves and always keep a rag or paper towel under where you're working. Do that and you'll be fine. Skip that step and you're likely to turn your hands and work area into a psychedelic catastrophe...

FYI: Previous printer was an Epson Artisan 810, which is very similar. I used a competing brand of CIS with that printer and had occasional cartridge hiccups. After two years, it started to develop problems with the automatic document feeder, which is very common on that model. Since we were getting into tax time and I do scan everything, I decided to bite the bullet and upgrade the printer. I was hoping the old CIS would work with this printer since the model was so similar, but the cartridge electronics are different so I had to purchase this unit.
