The only hiccup I had was when loading the black ink, my Brother MFC-J835DW didn't want to read the new cartridge. I inserted it a few times with no luck then put the old one back in and took it out. After I inserted the new black one again the printer read it fine. Haven't had the product long but I am currently happy with it.

The actual cartridges I purchased worked perfectly and I am not sure about instructions that are hard to understand but you just take out cartridges and put new ones in and when they get low you take out the plug and squeeze some more ink in the one that's empty. Not sure who needs instructions to do that.My problem is with the BLACK ink. The color inks are "acceptable" for non OEM aftermarket cheap inks, however brother usually uses pigment inks for their black and I did not notice that these guys ship these kits out with dye black ink. Brother does use dye color ink and these are ok (but there are way better options out there for just a couple more bucks, just search, MIS is great.
The dye black ink they send these with produces a dark grey using the BEST settings on my printer using a Mac, not sure if there print driver for windows is any better or not, but just saying.
I am using them in a brand new MFC-J835DW so I know it is NOT the printer.
I have ordered some pigment based inks for the black and will continue to use the cartridges because they do work great, just be advised that if you want really dark blacks you are going to have to order some pigmented black ink in addition to this set.
I will post some pictures for comparison when I get the pigmented ink in.

I have posted the picture comparing the inks that come in the cartridge, the ink from the refill bottle and then I bought a Brother Innobella cartridge to compare all 3 type. CLEARLY the brother black pigmented ink is vastly superior! So the cartridges work great but you are going to need to find a compatible bulk pigmented black ink for truly black text.
