had to remove the cartridge and shake it as my computer did not recognize it even though it is hp brand. this happened many times. maybe something was wrong with the computer strip on the cartridge. anyway, it is working now. I know to always buy the same brand as the printer since the generics are not recognized and I wasted money on them.
